Surah Al-Qaari'a

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 101:1

   ٱلْقَارِعَةُ﴿١﴾

   al-qāriʿatu

   The Catastrophe!

2. 101:2

   مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ﴿٢﴾

   mā l-qāriʿatu

   What is the Catastrophe?

3. 101:3

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ﴿٣﴾

   wa-mā ˈadrāka mā l-qāriʿatu

   What will show you what is the Catastrophe?

4. 101:4

   يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ﴿٤﴾

   yawma yakūnu n-nāsu ka-l-farāši l-mabṯūṯi

   [It is] the day when mankind will be like scattered moths

5. 101:5

   وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ﴿٥﴾

   wa-takūnu l-ǧibālu ka-l-ʿihni l-manfūši

   and the mountains like carded wool.

6. 101:6

   فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ﴿٦﴾

   fa-ˈammā man ṯaqulat mawāzīnuhū

   As for him, whose deeds weigh heavy in the scales,

7. 101:7

   فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ﴿٧﴾

   fa-huwa fī ʿīšatin rāḍiyatin

   he will have a pleasing life.

8. 101:8

   وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ﴿٨﴾

   wa-ˈammā man ḫaffat mawāzīnuhū

   But as for him, whose deeds weigh light in the scales,

9. 101:9

   فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ﴿٩﴾

   fa-ˈummuhū hāwiyatun

   his home will be the Abyss.

10. 101:10

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ﴿١٠﴾

    wa-mā ˈadrāka mā hiyah

    And what will show you what it is?

11. 101:11

    نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ﴿١١﴾

    nārun ḥāmiyatun

    It is a scorching fire!
