Surah Al-Ankaboot

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 29:1

   الٓمٓ﴿١﴾

   ʾ-l-m (ˈalif lām mīm)

   Alif, Lam, Meem.

2. 29:2

   أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ﴿٢﴾

   ˈa-ḥasiba n-nāsu ˈan yutrakū ˈan yaqūlū ˈāmannā wa-hum lā yuftanūna

   Do the people suppose that they will be let off because they say, ‘We have faith,’ and they will not be tested?

3. 29:3

   وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ﴿٣﴾

   wa-la-qad fatannā llaḏīna min qablihim fa-la-yaʿlamanna llāhu llaḏīna ṣadaqū wa-la-yaʿlamanna l-kāḏibīna

   Certainly We tested those who were before them. So Allah shall surely ascertain those who are truthful, and He shall surely ascertain the liars.

4. 29:4

   أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ﴿٤﴾

   ˈam ḥasiba llaḏīna yaʿmalūna s-sayyiˈāti ˈan yasbiqūnā sāˈa mā yaḥkumūna

   Do those who commit misdeeds suppose that they can outmaneuver Us? Evil is the judgement that they make.

5. 29:5

   مَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَـَٔاتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ﴿٥﴾

   man kāna yarǧū liqāˈa llāhi fa-ˈinna ˈaǧala llāhi la-ˈātin wa-huwa s-samīʿu l-ʿalīmu

   Whoever expects to encounter Allah [should know that] Allah’s [appointed] time will indeed come, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.

6. 29:6

   وَمَن جَـٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَـٰهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ﴿٦﴾

   wa-man ǧāhada fa-ˈinnamā yuǧāhidu li-nafsihī ˈinna llāha la-ġaniyyun ʿani l-ʿālamīna

   Whoever strives, strives only for his own sake. Indeed Allah has no need of the creatures.

7. 29:7

   وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ﴿٧﴾

   wa-llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti la-nukaffiranna ʿanhum sayyiˈātihim wa-la-naǧziyannahum ˈaḥsana llaḏī kānū yaʿmalūna

   As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will absolve them of their misdeeds and We will surely reward them by the best of what they used to do.

8. 29:8

   وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِن جَـٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ ۚ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿٨﴾

   wa-waṣṣaynā l-ˈinsāna bi-wālidayhi ḥusnan wa-ˈin ǧāhadāka li-tušrika bī mā laysa laka bihī ʿilmun fa-lā tuṭiʿhumā ˈilayya marǧiʿukum fa-ˈunabbiˈukum bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna

   We have enjoined man to be good to his parents. But if they urge you to ascribe to Me as partner that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. To Me will be your return, whereat I will inform you concerning what you used to do.

9. 29:9

   وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ﴿٩﴾

   wa-llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti la-nudḫilannahum fī ṣ-ṣāliḥīna

   Those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will surely admit them among the righteous.

10. 29:10

    وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ﴿١٠﴾

    wa-mina n-nāsi man yaqūlu ˈāmannā bi-llāhi fa-ˈiḏā ˈūḏiya fī llāhi ǧaʿala fitnata n-nāsi ka-ʿaḏābi llāhi wa-la-ˈin ǧāˈa naṣrun min rabbika la-yaqūlunna ˈinnā kunnā maʿakum ˈa-wa-laysa llāhu bi-ˈaʿlama bi-mā fī ṣudūri l-ʿālamīna

    Among the people there are those who say, ‘We have faith in Allah,’ but if such a one is tormented in Allah’s cause, he takes persecution by the people for Allah’s punishment. Yet if there comes any help from your Lord, they will say, ‘We were indeed with you.’ Does not Allah know best what is in the breasts of the creatures?

11. 29:11

    وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ﴿١١﴾

    wa-la-yaʿlamanna llāhu llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-la-yaʿlamanna l-munāfiqīna

    Allah shall surely ascertain those who have faith, and He shall surely ascertain the hypocrites.

12. 29:12

    وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَـٰيَـٰكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَـٰمِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَـٰيَـٰهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ﴿١٢﴾

    wa-qāla llaḏīna kafarū li-llaḏīna ˈāmanū ttabiʿū sabīlanā wa-l-naḥmil ḫaṭāyākum wa-mā hum bi-ḥāmilīna min ḫaṭāyāhum min šayˈin ˈinnahum la-kāḏibūna

    The faithless say to the faithful, ‘Follow our way and we will bear [responsibility for] your iniquities.’ They will not bear anything of their iniquities. They are indeed liars.

13. 29:13

    وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ﴿١٣﴾

    wa-la-yaḥmilunna ˈaṯqālahum wa-ˈaṯqālan maʿa ˈaṯqālihim wa-la-yusˈalunna yawma l-qiyāmati ʿammā kānū yaftarūna

    But they will carry their own burdens and other burdens along with their own burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they used to fabricate.

14. 29:14

    وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ﴿١٤﴾

    wa-la-qad ˈarsalnā nūḥan ˈilā qawmihī fa-labiṯa fīhim ˈalfa sanatin ˈillā ḫamsīna ʿāman fa-ˈaḫaḏahumu ṭ-ṭūfānu wa-hum ẓālimūna

    Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he remained with them for a thousand-less-fifty years. Then the flood overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

15. 29:15

    فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلسَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ﴿١٥﴾

    fa-ˈanǧaynāhu wa-ˈaṣḥāba s-safīnati wa-ǧaʿalnāhā ˈāyatan li-l-ʿālamīna

    Then We delivered him and those who were in the Ark, and made it a sign for all the nations.

16. 29:16

    وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ﴿١٦﴾

    wa-ˈibrāhīma ˈiḏ qāla li-qawmihi ʿbudū llāha wa-ttaqūhu ḏālikum ḫayrun lakum ˈin kuntum taʿlamūna

    And Abraham, when he said to his people, ‘Worship Allah and be wary of Him. That is better for you, should you know.

17. 29:17

    إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَٱبْتَغُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرِّزْقَ وَٱعْبُدُوهُ وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ لَهُۥٓ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ﴿١٧﴾

    ˈinnamā taʿbudūna min dūni llāhi ˈawṯānan wa-taḫluqūna ˈifkan ˈinna llaḏīna taʿbudūna min dūni llāhi lā yamlikūna lakum rizqan fa-btaġū ʿinda llāhi r-rizqa wa-ʿbudūhu wa-škurū lahū ˈilayhi turǧaʿūna

    What you worship instead of Allah are mere idols, and you invent a lie. Indeed those whom you worship besides Allah have no control over your provision. So seek all [your] provision from Allah, and worship Him and thank Him, and to Him you shall be brought back.’

18. 29:18

    وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا۟ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ﴿١٨﴾

    wa-ˈin tukaḏḏibū fa-qad kaḏḏaba ˈumamun min qablikum wa-mā ʿalā r-rasūli ˈillā l-balāġu l-mubīnu

    If you impugn [the Apostle’s teaching], then [other] nations have impugned [likewise] before you, and the Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.

19. 29:19

    أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ﴿١٩﴾

    ˈa-wa-lam yaraw kayfa yubdiˈu llāhu l-ḫalqa ṯumma yuʿīduhū ˈinna ḏālika ʿalā llāhi yasīrun

    Have they not regarded how Allah originates the creation? Then He will bring it back. That is indeed easy for Allah.

20. 29:20

    قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ يُنشِئُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ﴿٢٠﴾

    qul sīrū fī l-ˈarḍi fa-nẓurū kayfa badaˈa l-ḫalqa ṯumma llāhu yunšiˈu n-našˈata l-ˈāḫirata ˈinna llāha ʿalā kulli šayˈin qadīrun

    Say, ‘Travel over the land and observe how He has originated the creation.’ Then Allah will bring about the genesis of the Hereafter. Indeed Allah has power over all things.

21. 29:21

    يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ﴿٢١﴾

    yuʿaḏḏibu man yašāˈu wa-yarḥamu man yašāˈu wa-ˈilayhi tuqlabūna

    He will punish whomever He wishes and have mercy on whomever He wishes, and to Him you will be returned.

22. 29:22

    وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ﴿٢٢﴾

    wa-mā ˈantum bi-muʿǧizīna fī l-ˈarḍi wa-lā fī s-samāˈi wa-mā lakum min dūni llāhi min waliyyin wa-lā naṣīrin

    You cannot frustrate Him on the earth or in the sky, nor do you have besides Allah any guardian or helper.

23. 29:23

    وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِقَآئِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَئِسُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَتِى وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ﴿٢٣﴾

    wa-llaḏīna kafarū bi-ˈāyāti llāhi wa-liqāˈihī ˈulāˈika yaˈisū min raḥmatī wa-ˈulāˈika lahum ʿaḏābun ˈalīmun

    Those who deny the signs of Allah and the encounter with Him—they have despaired of My mercy, and for such there is a painful punishment.

24. 29:24

    فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿٢٤﴾

    fa-mā kāna ǧawāba qawmihī ˈillā ˈan qālū qtulūhu ˈaw ḥarriqūhu fa-ˈanǧāhu llāhu mina n-nāri ˈinna fī ḏālika la-ˈāyātin li-qawmin yuˈminūna

    But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Kill him, or burn him.’ Then Allah delivered him from the fire. There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.

25. 29:25

    وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ﴿٢٥﴾

    wa-qāla ˈinnamā ttaḫaḏtum min dūni llāhi ˈawṯānan mawaddata baynikum fī l-ḥayāti d-dunyā ṯumma yawma l-qiyāmati yakfuru baʿḍukum bi-baʿḍin wa-yalʿanu baʿḍukum baʿḍan wa-maˈwākumu n-nāru wa-mā lakum min nāṣirīna

    He said, ‘You have taken idols [for worship] besides Allah for the sake of [mutual] affection amongst yourselves in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will disown one another and curse one another, and the Fire will be your abode, and you will not have any helpers.’

26. 29:26

    فَـَٔامَنَ لَهُۥ لُوطٌ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّى مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ﴿٢٦﴾

    fa-ˈāmana lahū lūṭun wa-qāla ˈinnī muhāǧirun ˈilā rabbī ˈinnahū huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

    Thereupon Lot believed in him, and he said, ‘Indeed I am migrating toward my Lord. Indeed He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.’

27. 29:27

    وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِ ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ أَجْرَهُۥ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ﴿٢٧﴾

    wa-wahabnā lahū ˈisḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba wa-ǧaʿalnā fī ḏurriyyatihi n-nubuwwata wa-l-kitāba wa-ˈātaynāhu ˈaǧrahū fī d-dunyā wa-ˈinnahū fī l-ˈāḫirati la-mina ṣ-ṣāliḥīna

    And We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and We ordained among his descendants prophethood and the Book, and We gave him his reward in this world, and in the Hereafter he will indeed be among the Righteous.

28. 29:28

    وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ﴿٢٨﴾

    wa-lūṭan ˈiḏ qāla li-qawmihī ˈinnakum la-taˈtūna l-fāḥišata mā sabaqakum bihā min ˈaḥadin mina l-ʿālamīna

    And Lot, when he said to his people, ‘You indeed commit an indecency none in the world has ever committed before you!

29. 29:29

    أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ ٱلسَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِى نَادِيكُمُ ٱلْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ﴿٢٩﴾

    ˈa-ˈinnakum la-taˈtūna r-riǧāla wa-taqṭaʿūna s-sabīla wa-taˈtūna fī nādīkumu l-munkara fa-mā kāna ǧawāba qawmihī ˈillā ˈan qālū ˈtinā bi-ʿaḏābi llāhi ˈin kunta mina ṣ-ṣādiqīna

    What! Do you come to men, and cut off the way, and commit outrages in your gatherings?’ But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Bring down us Allah’s punishment, if you are truthful.’

30. 29:30

    قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ﴿٣٠﴾

    qāla rabbi nṣurnī ʿalā l-qawmi l-mufsidīna

    He said, ‘My Lord! Help me against this corruptive lot.’

31. 29:31

    وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُهْلِكُوٓا۟ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا۟ ظَـٰلِمِينَ﴿٣١﴾

    wa-lammā ǧāˈat rusulunā ˈibrāhīma bi-l-bušrā qālū ˈinnā muhlikū ˈahli hāḏihi l-qaryati ˈinna ˈahlahā kānū ẓālimīna

    And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said, ‘We are indeed going to destroy the people of this town. Its people are indeed wrongdoers.’

32. 29:32

    قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ﴿٣٢﴾

    qāla ˈinna fīhā lūṭan qālū naḥnu ˈaʿlamu bi-man fīhā la-nunaǧǧiyannahū wa-ˈahlahū ˈillā mraˈatahū kānat mina l-ġābirīna

    He said, ‘Lot is in it.’ They said, ‘We know better those who are in it. We will surely deliver him and his family, except his wife: she shall be one of those who remain behind.’

33. 29:33

    وَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ﴿٣٣﴾

    wa-lammā ˈan ǧāˈat rusulunā lūṭan sīˈa bihim wa-ḍāqa bihim ḏarʿan wa-qālū lā taḫaf wa-lā taḥzan ˈinnā munaǧǧūka wa-ˈahlaka ˈillā mraˈataka kānat mina l-ġābirīna

    And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed on their account and in a predicament for their sake. But they said, ‘Do not be afraid, nor grieve! We shall deliver you and your family, except your wife: she will be one of those who remain behind.

34. 29:34

    إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ﴿٣٤﴾

    ˈinnā munzilūna ʿalā ˈahli hāḏihi l-qaryati riǧzan mina s-samāˈi bi-mā kānū yafsuqūna

    We are indeed going to bring down upon the people of this town a punishment from the sky because of the transgressions they used to commit.’

35. 29:35

    وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَآ ءَايَةًۢ بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ﴿٣٥﴾

    wa-la-qad taraknā minhā ˈāyatan bayyinatan li-qawmin yaʿqilūna

    Certainly We have left of it a manifest sign for people who exercise their reason.

36. 29:36

    وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱرْجُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ﴿٣٦﴾

    wa-ˈilā madyana ˈaḫāhum šuʿayban fa-qāla yā-qawmi ʿbudū llāha wa-rǧū l-yawma l-ˈāḫira wa-lā taʿṯaw fī l-ˈarḍi mufsidīna

    And to Midian We sent Shu‘ayb, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah, and expect [to encounter] the Last Day, and do not act wickedly on the earth causing corruption.’

37. 29:37

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ﴿٣٧﴾

    fa-kaḏḏabūhu fa-ˈaḫaḏathumu r-raǧfatu fa-ˈaṣbaḥū fī dārihim ǧāṯimīna

    But they impugned him, whereupon the earthquake seized them, and they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes.

38. 29:38

    وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ﴿٣٨﴾

    wa-ʿādan wa-ṯamūda wa-qad tabayyana lakum min masākinihim wa-zayyana lahumu š-šayṭānu ˈaʿmālahum fa-ṣaddahum ʿani s-sabīli wa-kānū mustabṣirīna

    And ‘Ad and Thamud, [whose fate] is evident to you from their habitations. Satan made their deeds seem decorous to them, thus he barred them from the way [of Allah], though they used to be perceptive.

39. 29:39

    وَقَـٰرُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ سَـٰبِقِينَ﴿٣٩﴾

    wa-qārūna wa-firʿawna wa-hāmāna wa-la-qad ǧāˈahum mūsā bi-l-bayyināti fa-stakbarū fī l-ˈarḍi wa-mā kānū sābiqīna

    And Korah, Pharaoh, and Haman. Certainly, Moses brought them manifest proofs, but they acted arrogantly in the land; though they could not outmaneuver [Allah].

40. 29:40

    فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ﴿٤٠﴾

    fa-kullan ˈaḫaḏnā bi-ḏanbihī fa-minhum man ˈarsalnā ʿalayhi ḥāṣiban wa-minhum man ˈaḫaḏathu ṣ-ṣayḥatu wa-minhum man ḫasafnā bihi l-ˈarḍa wa-minhum man ˈaġraqnā wa-mā kāna llāhu li-yaẓlimahum wa-lākin kānū ˈanfusahum yaẓlimūna

    So We seized each [of them] for his sin: among them were those upon whom We unleashed a rain of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the Cry, and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. It was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves.

41. 29:41

    مَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ٱتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ ٱلْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ﴿٤١﴾

    maṯalu llaḏīna ttaḫaḏū min dūni llāhi ˈawliyāˈa ka-maṯali l-ʿankabūti ttaḫaḏat baytan wa-ˈinna ˈawhana l-buyūti la-baytu l-ʿankabūti law kānū yaʿlamūna

    The parable of those who take guardians instead of Allah is that of the spider that takes a home, and indeed the frailest of homes is the home of a spider, had they known!

42. 29:42

    إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ﴿٤٢﴾

    ˈinna llāha yaʿlamu mā yadʿūna min dūnihī min šayˈin wa-huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

    Allah indeed knows whatever thing they invoke besides Him, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

43. 29:43

    وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْعَـٰلِمُونَ﴿٤٣﴾

    wa-tilka l-ˈamṯālu naḍribuhā li-n-nāsi wa-mā yaʿqiluhā ˈillā l-ʿālimūna

    We draw these parables for mankind; but no one grasps them except those who have knowledge.

44. 29:44

    خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿٤٤﴾

    ḫalaqa llāhu s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍa bi-l-ḥaqqi ˈinna fī ḏālika la-ˈāyatan li-l-muˈminīna

    Allah created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom. There is indeed a sign in that for the faithful.

45. 29:45

    ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ﴿٤٥﴾

    utlu mā ˈūḥiya ˈilayka mina l-kitābi wa-ˈaqimi ṣ-ṣalāta ˈinna ṣ-ṣalāta tanhā ʿani l-faḥšāˈi wa-l-munkari wa-la-ḏikru llāhi ˈakbaru wa-llāhu yaʿlamu mā taṣnaʿūna

    Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and maintain the prayer. Indeed the prayer restrains from indecent and wrongful conduct, and the remembrance of Allah is surely greater. And Allah knows whatever [deeds] you do.

46. 29:46

    وَلَا تُجَـٰدِلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَـٰهُنَا وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ وَٰحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ﴿٤٦﴾

    wa-lā tuǧādilū ˈahla l-kitābi ˈillā bi-llatī hiya ˈaḥsanu ˈillā llaḏīna ẓalamū minhum wa-qūlū ˈāmannā bi-llaḏī ˈunzila ˈilaynā wa-ˈunzila ˈilaykum wa-ˈilāhunā wa-ˈilāhukum wāḥidun wa-naḥnu lahū muslimūna

    Do not argue with the People of the Book except in a manner which is best, except such of them as are wrongdoers, and say, ‘We believe in what has been sent down to us and in what has been sent down to you; our God and your God is one [and the same], and to Him do we submit.’

47. 29:47

    وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ﴿٤٧﴾

    wa-ka-ḏālika ˈanzalnā ˈilayka l-kitāba fa-llaḏīna ˈātaynāhumu l-kitāba yuˈminūna bihī wa-min hāˈulāˈi man yuˈminu bihī wa-mā yaǧḥadu bi-ˈāyātinā ˈillā l-kāfirūna

    Thus We have sent down the Book to you; those to whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are some who believe in it, and none contests Our signs except the faithless.

48. 29:48

    وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُوا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِن كِتَـٰبٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُۥ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّٱرْتَابَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ﴿٤٨﴾

    wa-mā kunta tatlū min qablihī min kitābin wa-lā taḫuṭṭuhū bi-yamīnika ˈiḏan la-rtāba l-mubṭilūna

    You did not use to recite any scripture before it, nor did you write it with your right hand, for then the impugners would have been skeptical.

49. 29:49

    بَلْ هُوَ ءَايَـٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَـٰتٌ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ﴿٤٩﴾

    bal huwa ˈāyātun bayyinātun fī ṣudūri llaḏīna ˈūtū l-ʿilma wa-mā yaǧḥadu bi-ˈāyātinā ˈillā ẓ-ẓālimūna

    Indeed, it is [present as] manifest signs in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge, and none contests Our signs except wrongdoers.

50. 29:50

    وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ﴿٥٠﴾

    wa-qālū law-lā ˈunzila ʿalayhi ˈāyātun min rabbihī qul ˈinnamā l-ˈāyātu ʿinda llāhi wa-ˈinnamā ˈana naḏīrun mubīnun

    They say, ‘Why has not some sign been sent down to him from his Lord?’ Say, ‘These signs are only from Allah, and I am only a manifest warner.’

51. 29:51

    أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿٥١﴾

    ˈa-wa-lam yakfihim ˈannā ˈanzalnā ʿalayka l-kitāba yutlā ʿalayhim ˈinna fī ḏālika la-raḥmatan wa-ḏikrā li-qawmin yuˈminūna

    Does it not suffice them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them? There is indeed in that a mercy and admonition for a people who have faith.

52. 29:52

    قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ﴿٥٢﴾

    qul kafā bi-llāhi baynī wa-baynakum šahīdan yaʿlamu mā fī s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍi wa-llaḏīna ˈāmanū bi-l-bāṭili wa-kafarū bi-llāhi ˈulāˈika humu l-ḫāsirūna

    Say, ‘Allah suffices as a witness between me and you: He knows whatever there is in the heavens and the earth. Those who put faith in falsehood and defy Allah—it is they who are the losers.’

53. 29:53

    وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ ۚ وَلَوْلَآ أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَّجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿٥٣﴾

    wa-yastaʿǧilūnaka bi-l-ʿaḏābi wa-law-lā ˈaǧalun musamman la-ǧāˈahumu l-ʿaḏābu wa-la-yaˈtiyannahum baġtatan wa-hum lā yašʿurūna

    They ask you to hasten the punishment. Yet were it not for a specified time, the punishment would have surely overtaken them. Surely, it will overtake them suddenly while they are unaware.

54. 29:54

    يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌۢ بِٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ﴿٥٤﴾

    yastaʿǧilūnaka bi-l-ʿaḏābi wa-ˈinna ǧahannama la-muḥīṭatun bi-l-kāfirīna

    They ask you to hasten the punishment, and indeed hell will besiege the faithless

55. 29:55

    يَوْمَ يَغْشَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴿٥٥﴾

    yawma yaġšāhumu l-ʿaḏābu min fawqihim wa-min taḥti ˈarǧulihim wa-yaqūlu ḏūqū mā kuntum taʿmalūna

    on the day when the punishment envelopes them, from above them and from under their feet, and He will say, ‘Taste what you used to do!’

56. 29:56

    يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ أَرْضِى وَٰسِعَةٌ فَإِيَّـٰىَ فَٱعْبُدُونِ﴿٥٦﴾

    yā-ʿibādiya llaḏīna ˈāmanū ˈinna ˈarḍī wāsiʿatun fa-ˈiyyāya fa-ʿbudūni

    O My servants who have faith! My earth is indeed vast. So worship [only] Me.

57. 29:57

    كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ﴿٥٧﴾

    kullu nafsin ḏāˈiqatu l-mawti ṯumma ˈilaynā turǧaʿūna

    Every soul shall taste death. Then you shall be brought back to Us.

58. 29:58

    وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ نِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ﴿٥٨﴾

    wa-llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti la-nubawwiˈannahum mina l-ǧannati ġurafan taǧrī min taḥtihā l-ˈanhāru ḫālidīna fīhā niʿma ˈaǧru l-ʿāmilīna

    Those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will surely settle them in the lofty abodes of paradise, with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever]. How excellent is the reward of the workers!

59. 29:59

    ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ﴿٥٩﴾

    allaḏīna ṣabarū wa-ʿalā rabbihim yatawakkalūna

    —Those who are patient and who put their trust in their Lord.

60. 29:60

    وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَآبَّةٍ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا ٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ﴿٦٠﴾

    wa-ka-ˈayyin min dābbatin lā taḥmilu rizqahā llāhu yarzuquhā wa-ˈiyyākum wa-huwa s-samīʿu l-ʿalīmu

    How many an animal there is that does not carry its own provision. Allah provides them and you, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.

61. 29:61

    وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ﴿٦١﴾

    wa-la-ˈin saˈaltahum man ḫalaqa s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍa wa-saḫḫara š-šamsa wa-l-qamara la-yaqūlunna llāhu fa-ˈannā yuˈfakūna

    If you ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth, and who has disposed the sun and the moon?’ They will surely say, ‘Allah.’ Then where do they stray?

62. 29:62

    ٱللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ﴿٦٢﴾

    allāhu yabsuṭu r-rizqa li-man yašāˈu min ʿibādihī wa-yaqdiru lahū ˈinna llāha bi-kulli šayˈin ʿalīmun

    Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes of His servants, and tightens it for him. Indeed Allah has knowledge of all things.

63. 29:63

    وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ﴿٦٣﴾

    wa-la-ˈin saˈaltahum man nazzala mina s-samāˈi māˈan fa-ˈaḥyā bihi l-ˈarḍa min baʿdi mawtihā la-yaqūlunna llāhu quli l-ḥamdu li-llāhi bal ˈakṯaruhum lā yaʿqilūna

    And if you ask them, ‘Who sends down water from the sky, with which He revives the earth after its death?’ They will surely say, ‘Allah.’ Say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah!’ But most of them do not exercise their reason.

64. 29:64

    وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ﴿٦٤﴾

    wa-mā hāḏihi l-ḥayātu d-dunyā ˈillā lahwun wa-laʿibun wa-ˈinna d-dāra l-ˈāḫirata la-hiya l-ḥayawānu law kānū yaʿlamūna

    The life of this world is nothing but diversion and play, but the abode of the Hereafter is indeed Life (itself), had they known!

65. 29:65

    فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ﴿٦٥﴾

    fa-ˈiḏā rakibū fī l-fulki daʿawu llāha muḫliṣīna lahu d-dīna fa-lammā naǧǧāhum ˈilā l-barri ˈiḏā hum yušrikūna

    When they board the ship, they invoke Allah putting exclusive faith in Him, but when He delivers them to land, behold, they ascribe partners [to Him],

66. 29:66

    لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ﴿٦٦﴾

    li-yakfurū bi-mā ˈātaynāhum wa-li-yatamattaʿū fa-sawfa yaʿlamūna

    being ungrateful for what We have given them! Let them enjoy. Soon they will know!

67. 29:67

    أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا حَرَمًا ءَامِنًا وَيُتَخَطَّفُ ٱلنَّاسُ مِنْ حَوْلِهِمْ ۚ أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَكْفُرُونَ﴿٦٧﴾

    ˈa-wa-lam yaraw ˈannā ǧaʿalnā ḥaraman ˈāminan wa-yutaḫaṭṭafu n-nāsu min ḥawlihim ˈa-fa-bi-l-bāṭili yuˈminūna wa-bi-niʿmati llāhi yakfurūna

    Have they not seen that We have appointed a safe sanctuary, while the people are despoiled all around them? Would they then believe in falsehood and be ungrateful toward the blessing of Allah?

68. 29:68

    وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُۥٓ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ﴿٦٨﴾

    wa-man ˈaẓlamu mimmani ftarā ʿalā llāhi kaḏiban ˈaw kaḏḏaba bi-l-ḥaqqi lammā ǧāˈahū ˈa-laysa fī ǧahannama maṯwan li-l-kāfirīna

    Who is a greater wrongdoer than him who fabricates a lie against Allah, or denies the truth when it comes to him? Is not the [final] abode of the faithless in hell?

69. 29:69

    وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمَعَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ﴿٦٩﴾

    wa-llaḏīna ǧāhadū fīnā la-nahdiyannahum subulanā wa-ˈinna llāha la-maʿa l-muḥsinīna

    As for those who strive in Us, We shall surely guide them in Our ways, and Allah is indeed with the virtuous.
