Surah At-Taghaabun

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 64:1

   يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ﴿١﴾

   yusabbiḥu li-llāhi mā fī s-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-ˈarḍi lahu l-mulku wa-lahu l-ḥamdu wa-huwa ʿalā kulli šayˈin qadīrun

   Whatever there is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah. To Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things.

2. 64:2

   هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ فَمِنكُمْ كَافِرٌ وَمِنكُم مُّؤْمِنٌ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ﴿٢﴾

   huwa llaḏī ḫalaqakum fa-minkum kāfirun wa-minkum muˈminun wa-llāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun

   It is He who created you. Then some of you are faithless and some of you are faithful, and Allah watches what you do.

3. 64:3

   خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ﴿٣﴾

   ḫalaqa s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍa bi-l-ḥaqqi wa-ṣawwarakum fa-ˈaḥsana ṣuwarakum wa-ˈilayhi l-maṣīru

   He created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom, and He formed you and perfected your forms, and toward Him is your destination.

4. 64:4

   يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ﴿٤﴾

   yaʿlamu mā fī s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍi wa-yaʿlamu mā tusirrūna wa-mā tuʿlinūna wa-llāhu ʿalīmun bi-ḏāti ṣ-ṣudūri

   He knows whatever there is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and Allah knows best what is in your breasts.

5. 64:5

   أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ فَذَاقُوا۟ وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ﴿٥﴾

   ˈa-lam yaˈtikum nabaˈu llaḏīna kafarū min qablu fa-ḏāqū wabāla ˈamrihim wa-lahum ʿaḏābun ˈalīmun

   Has there not come to you the account of those who were faithless before? They tasted the evil consequence of their conduct, and there is a painful punishment for them.

6. 64:6

   ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُۥ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا۟ وَتَوَلَّوا۟ ۚ وَّٱسْتَغْنَى ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ﴿٦﴾

   ḏālika bi-ˈannahū kānat taˈtīhim rusuluhum bi-l-bayyināti fa-qālū ˈa-bašarun yahdūnanā fa-kafarū wa-tawallaw wa-staġnā llāhu wa-llāhu ġaniyyun ḥamīdun

   That was because their apostles would bring them manifest proofs, but they said, ‘Will humans be our guides?!’ So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah had no need [of their faith] and Allah is all-sufficient, all-laudable.

7. 64:7

   زَعَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَن لَّن يُبْعَثُوا۟ ۚ قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّى لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ﴿٧﴾

   zaʿama llaḏīna kafarū ˈan lan yubʿaṯū qul balā wa-rabbī la-tubʿaṯunna ṯumma la-tunabbaˈunna bi-mā ʿamiltum wa-ḏālika ʿalā llāhi yasīrun

   The faithless claim that they will not be resurrected. Say, ‘Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did, and that is easy for Allah.’

8. 64:8

   فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلنُّورِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلْنَا ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ﴿٨﴾

   fa-ˈāminū bi-llāhi wa-rasūlihī wa-n-nūri llaḏī ˈanzalnā wa-llāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna ḫabīrun

   So have faith in Allah and His Apostle and the light, which We have sent down, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

9. 64:9

   يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُكُمْ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْجَمْعِ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلتَّغَابُنِ ۗ وَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَـٰلِحًا يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ﴿٩﴾

   yawma yaǧmaʿukum li-yawmi l-ǧamʿi ḏālika yawmu t-taġābuni wa-man yuˈmin bi-llāhi wa-yaʿmal ṣāliḥan yukaffir ʿanhu sayyiˈātihī wa-yudḫilhu ǧannātin taǧrī min taḥtihā l-ˈanhāru ḫālidīna fīhā ˈabadan ḏālika l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīmu

   When He will you bring you together for the Day of Gathering, it will be a day of privation [and regret]. As for those who have faith in Allah and act righteously, He shall absolve them of their misdeeds and admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. That is the great success.

10. 64:10

    وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ﴿١٠﴾

    wa-llaḏīna kafarū wa-kaḏḏabū bi-ˈāyātinā ˈulāˈika ˈaṣḥābu n-nāri ḫālidīna fīhā wa-biˈsa l-maṣīru

    But as for those who are faithless and deny Our signs, they will be the inmates of the Fire, to remain in it [forever], and it is an evil destination.

11. 64:11

    مَآ أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُۥ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ﴿١١﴾

    mā ˈaṣāba min muṣībatin ˈillā bi-ˈiḏni llāhi wa-man yuˈmin bi-llāhi yahdi qalbahū wa-llāhu bi-kulli šayˈin ʿalīmun

    No affliction visits [anyone] except by Allah’s leave. Whoever has faith in Allah, He guides his heart, and Allah has knowledge of all things.

12. 64:12

    وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَىٰ رَسُولِنَا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ﴿١٢﴾

    wa-ˈaṭīʿū llāha wa-ˈaṭīʿū r-rasūla fa-ˈin tawallaytum fa-ˈinnamā ʿalā rasūlinā l-balāġu l-mubīnu

    Obey Allah and obey the Apostle; but if you turn away, then Our Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.

13. 64:13

    ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴿١٣﴾

    allāhu lā ˈilāha ˈillā huwa wa-ʿalā llāhi fa-l-yatawakkali l-muˈminūna

    Allah—there is no god except Him—in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

14. 64:14

    يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَـٰدِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَٱحْذَرُوهُمْ ۚ وَإِن تَعْفُوا۟ وَتَصْفَحُوا۟ وَتَغْفِرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ﴿١٤﴾

    yā-ˈayyuhā llaḏīna ˈāmanū ˈinna min ˈazwāǧikum wa-ˈawlādikum ʿaduwwan lakum fa-ḥḏarūhum wa-ˈin taʿfū wa-taṣfaḥū wa-taġfirū fa-ˈinna llāha ġafūrun raḥīmun

    O you who have faith! Indeed, you have enemies among your spouses and children; so beware of them. Yet if you excuse, forbear, and forgive, then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.

15. 64:15

    إِنَّمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَأَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ﴿١٥﴾

    ˈinnamā ˈamwālukum wa-ˈawlādukum fitnatun wa-llāhu ʿindahū ˈaǧrun ʿaẓīmun

    Rather, your possessions, and children are a test, and Allah—with Him is a great reward!

16. 64:16

    فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ وَأَنفِقُوا۟ خَيْرًا لِّأَنفُسِكُمْ ۗ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ﴿١٦﴾

    fa-ttaqū llāha mā staṭaʿtum wa-smaʿū wa-ˈaṭīʿū wa-ˈanfiqū ḫayran li-ˈanfusikum wa-man yūqa šuḥḥa nafsihī fa-ˈulāˈika humu l-mufliḥūna

    So be wary of Allah, as much as you can, and listen and obey, and spend [in the way of Allah]; that is better for yourselves. Those who are saved from their own greed—it is they who are the felicitous.

17. 64:17

    إِن تُقْرِضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَـٰعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ شَكُورٌ حَلِيمٌ﴿١٧﴾

    ˈin tuqriḍū llāha qarḍan ḥasanan yuḍāʿifhu lakum wa-yaġfir lakum wa-llāhu šakūrun ḥalīmun

    If you lend Allah a good loan, He shall multiply it for you and forgive you, and Allah is all-appreciative, all-forbearing,

18. 64:18

    عَـٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ﴿١٨﴾

    ʿālimu l-ġaybi wa-ṣ-ṣahādati l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

    Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, the All-mighty, the All-wise.
