Surah Al-Mulk

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 67:1

   تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِ ٱلْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ﴿١﴾

   tabāraka llaḏī bi-yadihi l-mulku wa-huwa ʿalā kulli šayˈin qadīrun-i

   Blessed is He in whose hands is all sovereignty, and He has power over all things.

2. 67:2

   ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفُورُ﴿٢﴾

   allaḏī ḫalaqa l-mawta wa-l-ḥayāta li-yabluwakum ˈayyukum ˈaḥsanu ʿamalan wa-huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ġafūru

   He, who created death and life that He may test you [to see] which of you is best in conduct. And He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving.

3. 67:3

   ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِن تَفَـٰوُتٍ ۖ فَٱرْجِعِ ٱلْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٍ﴿٣﴾

   allaḏī ḫalaqa sabʿa samāwātin ṭibāqan mā tarā fī ḫalqi r-raḥmāni min tafāwutin fa-rǧiʿi l-baṣara hal tarā min fuṭūrin

   He created seven heavens in layers. You do not see any discordance in the creation of the All-beneficent. Look again! Do you see any flaw?

4. 67:4

   ثُمَّ ٱرْجِعِ ٱلْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ﴿٤﴾

   ṯumma rǧiʿi l-baṣara karratayni yanqalib ˈilayka l-baṣaru ḫāsiˈan wa-huwa ḥasīrun

   Look again, once more. Your look will return to you humbled and weary.

5. 67:5

   وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا رُجُومًا لِّلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ﴿٥﴾

   wa-la-qad zayyannā s-samāˈa d-dunyā bi-maṣābīḥa wa-ǧaʿalnāhā ruǧūman li-š-šayāṭīni wa-ˈaʿtadnā lahum ʿaḏāba s-saʿīri

   We have certainly adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and made them [the means of pelting] missiles against the devils, and We have prepared for them a punishment of the Blaze.

6. 67:6

   وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ﴿٦﴾

   wa-li-llaḏīna kafarū bi-rabbihim ʿaḏābu ǧahannama wa-biˈsa l-maṣīru

   For those who defy their Lord is the punishment of hell, and it is an evil destination.

7. 67:7

   إِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ فِيهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِىَ تَفُورُ﴿٧﴾

   ˈiḏā ˈulqū fīhā samiʿū lahā šahīqan wa-hiya tafūru

   When they are thrown in it, they hear it blaring, as it seethes,

8. 67:8

   تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلْقِىَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ﴿٨﴾

   takādu tamayyazu mina l-ġayẓi kullamā ˈulqiya fīhā fawǧun saˈalahum ḫazanatuhā ˈa-lam yaˈtikum naḏīrun

   almost exploding with rage. Whenever a group is thrown in it, its keepers will ask them, ‘Did not any warner come to you?’

9. 67:9

   قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ كَبِيرٍ﴿٩﴾

   qālū balā qad ǧāˈanā naḏīrun fa-kaḏḏabnā wa-qulnā mā nazzala llāhu min šayˈin ˈin ˈantum ˈillā fī ḍalālin kabīrin

   They will say, ‘Yes, a warner did come to us, but we impugned [him] and said, ‘Allah did not send down anything; you are only in great error.’

10. 67:10

    وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِىٓ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ﴿١٠﴾

    wa-qālū law kunnā nasmaʿu ˈaw naʿqilu mā kunnā fī ˈaṣḥābi s-saʿīri

    And they will say, ‘Had we listened or applied reason, we would not have been among inmates of the Blaze.’

11. 67:11

    فَٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِّأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ﴿١١﴾

    fa-ʿtarafū bi-ḏanbihim fa-suḥqan li-ˈaṣḥābi s-saʿīri

    Thus they will admit their sin. So away with the inmates of the Blaze!

12. 67:12

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ﴿١٢﴾

    ˈinna llaḏīna yaḫšawna rabbahum bi-l-ġaybi lahum maġfiratun wa-ˈaǧrun kabīrun

    Indeed for those who fear their Lord in secret there will be forgiveness and a great reward.

13. 67:13

    وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ ٱجْهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ﴿١٣﴾

    wa-ˈasirrū qawlakum ˈawi ǧharū bihī ˈinnahū ʿalīmun bi-ḏāti ṣ-ṣudūri

    Speak secretly, or do so openly, indeed He knows well what is in the breasts.

14. 67:14

    أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ﴿١٤﴾

    ˈa-lā yaʿlamu man ḫalaqa wa-huwa l-laṭīfu l-ḫabīru

    Would He who has created not know? And He is the All-attentive, the All-aware.

15. 67:15

    هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ﴿١٥﴾

    huwa llaḏī ǧaʿala lakumu l-ˈarḍa ḏalūlan fa-mšū fī manākibihā wa-kulū min rizqihī wa-ˈilayhi n-nušūru

    It is He who made the earth tractable for you; so walk on its flanks and eat of His provision, and towards Him is the resurrection.

16. 67:16

    ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَمُورُ﴿١٦﴾

    ˈa-ˈamintum man fī s-samāˈi ˈan yaḫsifa bikumu l-ˈarḍa fa-ˈiḏā hiya tamūru

    Are you secure that He who is in the sky will not make the earth swallow you while it quakes?

17. 67:17

    أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ﴿١٧﴾

    ˈam-ˈamintum man fī s-samāˈi ˈan yursila ʿalaykum ḥāṣiban fa-sa-taʿlamūna kayfa naḏīri

    Are you secure that He who is in the sky will not unleash upon you a rain of stones? Soon you will know how My warning has been!

18. 67:18

    وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ﴿١٨﴾

    wa-la-qad kaḏḏaba llaḏīna min qablihim fa-kayfa kāna nakīri

    Certainly those who were before them had impugned [My apostles]; but then how was My rebuttal!

19. 67:19

    أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۭ بَصِيرٌ﴿١٩﴾

    ˈa-wa-lam yaraw ˈilā ṭ-ṭayri fawqahum ṣāffātin wa-yaqbiḍna mā yumsikuhunna ˈillā r-raḥmānu ˈinnahū bi-kulli šayˈin baṣīrun

    Have they not regarded the birds above them spreading and closing their wings? No one sustains them except the All-beneficent. Indeed, He watches all things.

20. 67:20

    أَمَّنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ جُندٌ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ إِنِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِى غُرُورٍ﴿٢٠﴾

    ˈam-man hāḏā llaḏī huwa ǧundun lakum yanṣurukum min dūni r-raḥmāni ˈini l-kāfirūna ˈillā fī ġurūrin

    Who is it that is your host who may help you, besides the All-beneficent? The faithless only dwell in delusion.

21. 67:21

    أَمَّنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِى عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ﴿٢١﴾

    ˈam-man hāḏā llaḏī yarzuqukum ˈin ˈamsaka rizqahū bal laǧǧū fī ʿutuwwin wa-nufūrin

    Who is it that may provide for you if He withholds His provision? Indeed, they persist in defiance and aversion.

22. 67:22

    أَفَمَن يَمْشِى مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦٓ أَهْدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمْشِى سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ﴿٢٢﴾

    ˈa-fa-man yamšī mukibban ʿalā waǧhihī ˈahdā ˈam-man yamšī sawiyyan ʿalā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

    Is he who walks prone on his face better guided, or he who walks upright on a straight path?

23. 67:23

    قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ﴿٢٣﴾

    qul huwa llaḏī ˈanšaˈakum wa-ǧaʿala lakumu s-samʿa wa-l-ˈabṣāra wa-l-ˈafˈidata qalīlan mā taškurūna

    Say, ‘It is He who created you, and made for you hearing, eyesight, and hearts. Little do you thank.’

24. 67:24

    قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ﴿٢٤﴾

    qul huwa llaḏī ḏaraˈakum fī l-ˈarḍi wa-ˈilayhi tuḥšarūna

    Say, ‘It is He who created you on the earth, and toward Him you will be mustered.’

25. 67:25

    وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ﴿٢٥﴾

    wa-yaqūlūna matā hāḏā l-waʿdu ˈin kuntum ṣādiqīna

    They say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?’

26. 67:26

    قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْعِلْمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ﴿٢٦﴾

    qul ˈinnamā l-ʿilmu ʿinda llāhi wa-ˈinnamā ˈana naḏīrun mubīnun

    Say, ‘Its knowledge is only with Allah; I am only a manifest warner.’

27. 67:27

    فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيٓـَٔتْ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقِيلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ﴿٢٧﴾

    fa-lammā raˈawhu zulfatan sīˈat wuǧūhu llaḏīna kafarū wa-qīla hāḏā llaḏī kuntum bihī taddaʿūna

    When they see it brought near, the countenances of the faithless will be contorted, and [they will be] told, ‘This is what you were asking for!’

28. 67:28

    قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِىَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ﴿٢٨﴾

    qul ˈa-raˈaytum ˈin ˈahlakaniya llāhu wa-man maʿiya ˈaw raḥimanā fa-man yuǧīru l-kāfirīna min ʿaḏābin ˈalīmin

    Say, ‘Tell me, whether Allah destroys me and those who are with me, or He has mercy on us, who will shelter the faithless from a painful punishment?’

29. 67:29

    قُلْ هُوَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ﴿٢٩﴾

    qul huwa r-raḥmānu ˈāmannā bihī wa-ʿalayhi tawakkalnā fa-sa-taʿlamūna man huwa fī ḍalālin mubīnin

    Say, ‘He is the All-beneficent; we have faith in Him, and in Him do we trust. Soon you will know who is in manifest error.’

30. 67:30

    قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَآؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَن يَأْتِيكُم بِمَآءٍ مَّعِينٍۭ﴿٣٠﴾

    qul ˈa-raˈaytum ˈin ˈaṣbaḥa māˈukum ġawran fa-man yaˈtīkum bi-māˈin maʿīnin

    Say, ‘Tell me, should your water sink down [into the ground], who will bring you running water?’
