اَشـهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَد اَقَمتَ الصَّلاةَ وَآتَيتَ الزَّكاةI bear witness that truly you established the prayers and gave the zakat (prescribed share) to the needy,

وَاَمَرتَ بـاُلمِعروف ِوَنَهَيتَ عـَنِ المُنكرِand commanded to do what is right and lawful, and not to do that which is wrong and unlawful,

وَاَطـَعـتَ اللهَ وَرَسـولَهُ حـَتّى اَتيكَ اليَقـينُand obeyed God and His Messenger until the inevitable event came to you!

فـَلَعـَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً قَتـَلَتـكَ وَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً ظَلَمَتكَSo, God curse those who killed you and God curse those who wronged you!

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً سَمِعت بـِذلك فَرَضِيَت بـهAnd God curse those who heard the event but remained satisfied!

يا مَولاي يا ابا عَبدِ اللهِO My Master, O Abu ′Abdullah!

اَشهَدُ اَنّك كُنتَ نوُرا في الأصلابِ الشّامِخَةِ وَالأرحـامِ المُطَهَرَةِI bear witness that truly you were a light in the sublime loins and purified wombs!

لم تـُنَجـِسـكَ الجـاهِليَّةُ بـاَنِجـاسـِهاThe impurities of ignorance did not even touch you,

وَلَم تـُلبـِسكَ مِن مُدلَهِمّاتِ ثـِيابـِهاnor could its soiled and dirty character ever smear you!

وَاَشـهَدُ أنَكَ مِن دَعائِم الدّين وَاَركانِ المُؤمِنينَI bear witness that, truly, you are the main support of religion, and the supporter of the belivers!

وَاَشهَدُ اَنّكَ الإمـام البَّرُ التَّقـيُ الرَّضـيُ الزَّكيّ الهادِي المَهدِيُI bear witness that, truly, you are a pious, God-fearing, favorite, wise, and rightly guided Imam.

وَاَشـهَدُ اَنَّ الأَئمّة مِن وُلْدِكَ كَلِمةُ التَّقـوىI bear witness that the Imams descended from you are words of piety,

وَاَعـلامُ الهُدى وَالعـُروةُ الوُثـقى وَالحـُجَّةُ عـَلى اَهل الدُنيـاand the signs of guidance and the safe handle of Islam, and the decisive argument for humanity.

وَاُشـهِدُ اللهَ وَمـلائكـَتـَهُ وَاَنبـِيائَهُ وَرُسـُلَهُI call God to give witness, and also His Angels, and His Prophets, and His Messenger,

اَنّي بـِكـمُ مُؤمِنٌ وَبـِايِابـِكم مُوقنٌ بـَشَرائِع ديني وخواتيِم عَمَليthat, truly, I believe in (all of) you and that I am sure of your Return connected to the sacred laws of my religion and my accomplishments.

وقَلبي لقَلبِكم سِلمٌ وَاَمري لِامْرِكـمُ مُتَّبـعAnd my heart is given to yours, and my conduct follows your example.

صـَلَوات الله عَلَيكم وَعَلى اَرواحـِكم وَعَلى اَجـسـادِكُمBlessings of God be on (all of) you and on your souls and on your bodies,

وعـَلَى اَجـسـامِكُم وَعـَلى شـاهِدِكمand on your forms and when you are presented to our view,

وَعـَلَى غـائِبـِكم وَعـَلَى ظـاهركم وعـلى بــاطـِنـِكـمand when you are out of sight, and on your style and on your substance.

بـاَبـي أَنـت وَ اُمي يَا بْن رَسـُولِ اللهِ يا ابـا عـَبـدِ اللهِMy father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of God! My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Abu Abdullah!

لَقَد عَظـُمتِ الرَّزيَّةُ و جـَلَتِ المُصـيبـَةُ بـِكَ عَلَيناTruly, terrible was the calamity, and your suffering casts gloom upon us,

وَعَلى جــَمــيعِ اَهل السَّمــواتِ والأرضand upon all the people of the heavens and the earth.

فــَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمـةً أَسرجَت و َاَلجمـَتْ وَتـَهَيَأت و تنـقـبـت لِقـِتالِكTherefore, the curse of God be on the people who saddled up and gave rein to their horses and prepared to kill you.

يا مَوْلاي ياابـا عـَبـدِ اللهِO my Master, O Abu Abdullah!

قَصَدْتُ حَرَمَك وَاَتَيْت اِلى مَشْهَدِكI moved towards your sacred shrine and came to visit you.

اَسـئَلُ اللهَ بـالِشـأن الذَي لَكَ عِندَهُI beseech God by the status that you enjoy with Him,

وَ بـِالمَحَل الَّذي لَكَ لَدَيهِand in the position that you enjoy with Him,

اَن يُصـَليَ عَلَى مُحـَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحـَمّدٍto send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad,

وَاَن يَجعَلَني مَعَكم في الدُنيا وَالآخـِرةand keep me with you in this world and in the Hereafter.

السّلامُ عـَلَيكَ يابــنَ رَسـوُلِ اللهِPeace be upon you, O Son of the Messenger of God!

السـّلامُ عـَلَيكَ يابـنَ نَبـِيِ اللهِPeace be upon you, O Son of the Prophet of God!

السـّلامُ عـَلَيـكَ يابـنَ اَمير المُؤمِنينَPeace be upon you, O Son of the Commander of the Faithful!

السـّلامُ عَلَيكَ يابـنَ الحـُسـينِ الشـهيدِPeace be upon you, O Son of Husayn the Martyr!

السـّلامُ عَلَيكَ ايُّها الشـَهيدُ وابـن الشـهيدPeace be upon you, O Martyr!

السـّلامُ عـَلَيكَ ايُّها المـَظـلومُ وَابـنُ المَظـلوُمِPeace be upon you, O the Wronged One and Son of the Wronged One!

لَعَنَ اللهُ اُمةً قَتـَلَتـك وَلَعَنَ الله اُمةً ظَلَمَتـكَThe curse of God be on those who killed you. The curse of God be on those who persecuted you.

وَلَعَن اللهُ اُمةً سـَمِعت بـِذلِك فَرَضِيت بـِهِThe curse of God be on those who heard this event but rested satisfied.

السـّلامُ عَلَيكَ يا ياوَليَّ اللهِ وَابـنَ وَلِيهِPeace be upon you, O the Saint of God and Son of the Saint of God.

لَقَد عَظُمتِ المُصـيبـَةُTruly, terrible was the calamity,

وَجـَلّتِ الرَزِيةُ بـِكَ عـَلينا وَعـَلَى جـَميعِ المُسـلِمينَand your suffering casts gloom upon us and upon all Muslims.

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمةً قَتَلَتك وَاَبـرءُ اِلى اللهِ وَاِليكَ مـِنهمSo, the curse of God be on those who killed you, and I cut off all links with them, and turn to God and to you.

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يااَولياءَ اللهِ وَاَحـِبـائَهُPeace be upon all of you, O the Saints and Dear Ones of God!

السَّلام ُعـَلَيكُم يا اصـفـِياءَ اللهِ وَاوِدّائَهُPeace be upon all of you, O the Adorers of God and the Sincerely Attached to Him!

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنصـارَ دينِ اللهِPeace be upon all of you, O the Helpers of God’s Religion!

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنـصـارَ رَسـُولِ اللهِPeace be upon all of you, O the Helpers of the Messenger of God!

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـكُم يـا اَنـصـارَ اَميرِ المُؤمِنـينPeace be upon all of you, O the Helpers of the Commander of the Faithful!

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنـصـارَ فـاطـِمةَ الزهراء سَيدةِ نِساءِ العـالَمينَPeace be upon all of you, O the Helpers of Fatimah, the Noble Leader of the women of all worlds!

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنـصـارَ اَبـي مُحـَمَّدٍ الحـَسـَنِ بـن عـليٍّ الوَلي الناصِحPeace be upon all of you, O the Helpers of Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Ali, The sincere, pure and faithful saint!

السَّلامُ عَلَيكُم يا اَنصارَ اَبـي عَبـدِ اللهِPeace be upon all of you, O the Helpers of Abu Abdullah!

بـاَبـي اَنتُم وَاُمي طِبـتُم وطابـَتِ الأرضُ الّتـي فـيها دُفـِنـتُمMy father and mother be sacrificed for you Truly, you were pure; therefore, the land where you are buried has been purified.

وَفـُزتُم فـَوزاً عـَظـيماًYou also attained your goal and won great fortune.

فَيا لَيْتَني كُنْت مَعَكُمWould that we were with you,

فَاَفُوزَ مَعَكُمْso that we could also share the accomplishment with you!

فَيالَيْتَني كُنْت مَعَكُمWould that we were with you,

فَاَفُوز مَعَكُمْso that we could also share the accomplishment with you!
