بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِIn the Name of God, the All-Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّدO Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
يَا عَلِيُّ يَا عَظِيمُ،O the Most High; O the All-great;
يَا غَفُورُ يَا رَحِيمُ،O the All-forgiving; O the All-merciful
أَنْتَ الرَّبُّ الْعَظِيمُYou are the All-great Lord
الَّذِي لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌLike Whom there is nothing
وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ،and He is the All-hearing, the All-aware;
وَهذَا شَهْرٌ عَظَّمْتَهُ وَكَرَّمْتَهُand this is a month that You have glorified and ennbled,
وَشَرَّفْتَهُ وَفَضَّلْتَهُ عَلَى الشُّهُورِ،and honored and preferred to the other months,
وَهُوَ الشَّهْرُ الَّذِي فَرَضْتَ صِيَامَهُ عَلَيَّ،it is the month that You imposed upon me to observe fasting in it,
وَهُوَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنَit is the month of Ramadan during which You revealed the Qur'an
هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدَى وَالْفُرْقَانِas guidance for people and clear proofs on true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong);
وَجَعَلْتَ فِيهِ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِand You decided the Grand Night to be in it,
وَجَعَلْتَهَا خَيْراً مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ،and You have decided it to be more favorable that one thousand months.
فَيَا ذَا الْمَنِّ وَلا يُمَنُّ عَلَيْكَSo, O the Lord of graces; and none can ever do favor to You;
مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِفَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ فِي مَنْ تَمُنُّ عَلَيْهِPlease do me a favor by releasing me from the Fire and by including me with those to whom You do this favor,
وَأَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَand allow me to enter Paradise;
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.on account of Your mercy; O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
