المعلى ذكره فاطمةThe exalted one whose remembrance is Fatimah,

والدعاء سره فاطمةand the secret of prayer is Fatimah,

والوجود كله إنما خيره فاطمةand all of existence's ultimate blessing is Fatimah,

إنما خيره فاطمةindeed, its blessing is Fatimah.

لرضاك وجدنا وإليك نعودFor your pleasure we were created, and to you we shall return,

وتدور القرون في هواك والوجودand ages and all of creation revolve around your love.

وعرفناك حقاًWe have known you in truth,

وسلكنا طريقاًand walked a path,

فسواك سرابfor other than you is but a mirage,

وبك عين الحقيقةand in you is the very essence of truth.

كما الرحى أدرت في كفيك أمر الزمانLike a millstone, you turned the course of time within your hands;

بكسرك كسرت للدنيا أضلاع الأماني (2x)with your broken ribs, you crushed the worldly hopes of this life,

يا زهراء يا زهراء يا زهراء (3x)O Zahra! O Zahra! O Zahra!

يا يا زهراء يا زهراء يا زهراءO, O Zahra! O Zahra! O Zahra!

في العزاء خطابنا فاطمةIn mourning, our call is Fatimah

في الوغى جوابنا فاطمةIn the heat of battle, our answer is Fatimah

للشهادة يا أخي إنما بابنا فاطمةTowards martyrdom, O my brother, our gateway is Fatimah

إنما بابنا فاطمةOur gateway is truly Fatimah

هي بأس وعزمShe is valor and resolve

هي حرز لديناShe is our protective shield

هي عين بعطف لم تزل تنظر إليناShe is an eye that ever gazes upon us with compassion

فعرفناها حباً وعلى الحب نقتالWe knew her through love, and upon love we are nourished

ولدينا رجاء علنا بنظرة نشملAnd we cherish the hope that a glance from her may encompass us

لفاطمة العيون والكف نعطي لا نباليFor Fatimah, we offer our eyes and hands without hesitation

ودونها المنون والله كالماء الزلال (2x)And for her sake, by God, death is sweet as clear water

جئتك بخجلتي فاطمةI have come to you in my shame, O Fatimah

هل نظرت في حاجتي فاطمةWill you look upon my pleading need, O Fatimah?

يا فداك أنا فاقبلي مهجتي فاطمةMay I be sacrificed for you, accept my soul, O Fatimah

فاقبلي مهجتي فاطمةAccept my soul, O Fatimah

أما ترى مالي سواكDo you not see that I have none other than you?

وأنا من يديكAnd I belong entirely to your hands

وبقلبي أقمت مأتماً ينعى عليكAnd in my heart I have raised a mourning gathering lamenting for you

فَفِداكِ خُذِيني ودَعِيني أُقَطَّعْMay I be your sacrifice! Take me and let me be torn to pieces,

لأُعَزِّيَ عَزِيزًا بِالخُيُولِ قَدْ تُوُزِّعْSo that I may console that beloved one who was torn apart by horses' hooves.

كَذَلِكَ المُحِبُّ مُحتَارٌ كَيْ يَلقَى حَبِيبَهْThus does the lover wander perplexed, yearning to meet his beloved,

فَالانتِظَارُ صَعبٌ مَولَاتِي فِي الدُّنيَا المُصِيبَةْ (2x)For waiting is painful, my Lady, in this world of tribulations.
