ما گداییم،We are beggars,

شما منت ما را نکشید.you need not bear our burden.

منت از ماست که بر دیدنمان آمده‌اید.We are the indebted ones that you have come to see us.

به گدایان گرفتار بفرما زده‌اید.You have welcomed the afflicted beggars.

قصه لطف شما، قصه اقیانوس است.The tale of your grace is the tale of the ocean.

برسانید به هرکس که ز خویش مأیوس است.Convey it to anyone who despairs of themselves.

غصه‌ای هست اگر، چاره آن در توس است.If there is any sorrow, its remedy is in Tus.

عاقبت کلبه احزان رضا گلشن شدAt last, the house of sorrows of Ridha became a blooming garden,

با جواد بن رضا چشم همه روشن شد.With Jawad, son of Ridha, everyone's eyes were brightened.

آسمان خنده به لب میل به باران دارد.The sky, with a smile on its lips, yearns to rain.

ماه از شوق به کف آینه قرآن دارد.Out of joy, the moon holds the mirror of the Quran in its hand.

شاه ما گرچه حسودان فراوان دارد،Though our King has many enviers,

چشمشان کور که خورشید به دامان دارد.Blind be their eyes, for he holds the sun in his lap.

عجب است این پسر امروز پیمبر نشده،It is a wonder this boy did not become a prophet today,

هیچ مولودی از او با برکت‌تر نشده.No newborn has ever been more blessed than him.

وجناتش، سکناتش شرف مصطفوی، ریخته در نظرش معجزه‌های نبوی.His features and his serenity hold the honor of Mustafa, prophetic miracles flow from his gaze.

خنده‌اش فاطمی و جذبه چشمش علوی.His smile is Fatimid, and the magnetism of his eyes is Alawi.

چه بگویم به او قند و نبات رضوی.What can I call him? The sweetness and rock candy of Ridha.

قل هو الله احد ریخته بر لب‌هایش.'Say, He is Allah, [who is] One' flows upon his lips.

ای به قربان صدای خودش و بابایش.May I be a sacrifice for his voice and his father's.

ای دل از سنگ شدن، دل بکن و گوهر باش.O heart, detach from turning to stone and become a jewel.

آب هر چشمه نشو، قطره‌ای از کوثر باش.Do not be the water of just any spring; be a drop of Kawthar.

سلطنت خواهی اگر، در دو جهان نوکر باش.If you desire sovereignty, be a servant in both worlds.

کاظمینی شده‌ی دست علی اصغر باش.Be brought to Kadhimiya by the hand of Ali al-Asghar.

که خدا عیدی ما را دو برابر داده،For God has doubled our Eid gift,

رزق ما می‌رسد امشب ز دو آقازاده.Our sustenance arrives tonight from two noble sons.

اما این آقازاده و اون آقازاده،But between this noble son and that noble son,

عالمی داشت.There was a world of difference.

این قنداق رو دادن دست باباش.This swaddle was given to the hands of his father.

امام رضا خوشحال شد.Imam Ridha rejoiced.

شنیدید اونایی که بودند،You have heard those who were present,

حضرت بعد از یکی دو روز فرمودAfter a day or two, His Eminence said,

این قنداق رو ببرید تو بازارTake this swaddle to the bazaar,

مردم بدونن خدا به من پسر داده.So people may know God has given me a son.

اما یه قنداق هم دست بابا دادن.But another swaddle was given to a father's hand.

اصل روایت اونایی که دنبالشن اینه،The essence of the narration for those seeking it is this:

تا قنداق رو دستش دادنAs soon as the swaddle was placed in his hands,

هنوز حرف نزدهBefore he even spoke,

سر بچه رو بریدن.They severed the child's head.

این پسر کیست که منظومه عرفان شده است؟Who is this boy who has become the galaxy of mysticism?

شیرخواره‌ست ولی پیر بزرگان شده است.He is an infant, yet he has become the elder of the greats.

ششمین جلوه ی سی جزء ز قرآن شده است.He has become the sixth manifestation of the thirty parts of the Quran.

علی دیگری از عرش نمایان شده است.Another Ali has appeared from the Throne.

شیر شیر است یل است، چه کوچک چه بزرگ.A lion is a lion, a hero, whether small or great.

بر می‌آید ز علی بن حسین کار سترگ.Great deeds are accomplished by Ali ibn Husayn.

نخل اگر نخل رباب است، ثمردارتر است.If the palm tree belongs to Rubab, it is more fruitful.

دست اگر دست حسین است، گهربارتر است.If the hand is the hand of Husayn, it is more jewel-showering.

این پسر از همه در معرکه سردارتر است.This boy is more of a commander in the battlefield than anyone.

از دو صد مرد به پیکار جگردارتر است.In battle, he is braver than two hundred men.

تیغ شمشیر خود از پیچش مو ساخته‌ست.He has forged the blade of his sword from the curl of his hair.

جوشن جنگی خود را ز گلو ساخته‌ست.He has made his chainmail armor from his very throat.

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْكَ يا مظلوم،May Allah's blessings be upon you, O oppressed one,

يا اباعبدالله.O Aba Abdillah.
