السيف دواها يفري مأ الكفرThe sword is its cure, cutting through the head of disbelief,
يصلي في حشاها جمراً من سقرRoasting their bowels with embers from Hellfire.
يا أيتام هند لا أين المفرO orphans of Hind, where is the escape now?

صرخة من بكاءA cry born of weeping,
صرخة من بكاء زلزلت كربلاءA cry born of weeping shook Karbala!
فمتى تشتفي؟So when will she find solace?
فلتقم كربلاءLet Karbala arise!
في العرش أذان فطنتAt the Divine Throne, the call to prayer was heard,
يا سكان عرشيO dwellers of My Throne,
يا أهل الثرىO inhabitants of the earth,
نزل الأمر من في كل القرىThe decree has descended upon all villages:
لن أبقي لحرب منهم مخبرا (2x)I shall not leave a single survivor from this war to tell the tale,
ثارات الغضب ونار الحطمThe vengeance of fury and the fire of crushing torment,
جحيم يلهب نار الحاطمة لهم قاصمةA blazing inferno, the crushing fire breaking them.

يا أطباق أرضي زلزلي وانكفيO layers of the earth, quake and overturn!
إنه يوم وعد وبوعدي أفيIt is the day of promise, and I will fulfill my promise!
أسحق الشام سحقا ثم لا أكتفي (2x)I will crush the Levant entirely, and even then I will not be satisfied!
نيران الصراع وجمر الغضاFires of conflict and burning embers,
بقلبي تشخبBleeding forth in my heart,
بركان السماء غلى بالدماءThe volcano of heaven boiled with blood,
لك يا زينبFor your sake, O Zaynab!
فمهلا مهلا تا بركانيWait patiently, wait, until my volcano erupts!
