Surah Muhammad

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 47:1

   ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَضَلَّ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ﴿١﴾

   allaḏīna kafarū wa-ṣaddū ʿan sabīli llāhi ˈaḍalla ˈaʿmālahum

   Those who are [themselves] faithless and bar [others] from the way of Allah—He has rendered their works fruitless.

2. 47:2

   وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَءَامَنُوا۟ بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۙ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ﴿٢﴾

   wa-llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti wa-ˈāmanū bi-mā nuzzila ʿalā muḥammadin wa-huwa l-ḥaqqu min rabbihim kaffara ʿanhum sayyiˈātihim wa-ˈaṣlaḥa bālahum

   But those who have faith and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down to Muhammad—and it is the truth from their Lord—He shall absolve them of their misdeeds and set right their affairs.

3. 47:3

   ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلْبَـٰطِلَ وَأَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلْحَقَّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ﴿٣﴾

   ḏālika bi-ˈanna llaḏīna kafarū ttabaʿū l-bāṭila wa-ˈanna llaḏīna ˈāmanū ttabaʿū l-ḥaqqa min rabbihim ka-ḏālika yaḍribu llāhu li-n-nāsi ˈamṯālahum

   That is because the faithless follow falsehood, and the faithful follow the truth from their Lord. That is how Allah draws comparisons for mankind.

4. 47:4

   فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَضَرْبَ ٱلرِّقَابِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا۟ ٱلْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّۢا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَآءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ ٱلْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ لَٱنتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَا۟ بَعْضَكُم بِبَعْضٍ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ﴿٤﴾

   fa-ˈiḏā laqītumu llaḏīna kafarū fa-ḍarba r-riqābi ḥattā ˈiḏā ˈaṯḫantumūhum fa-šuddū l-waṯāqa fa-ˈimmā mannan baʿdu wa-ˈimmā fidāˈan ḥattā taḍaʿa l-ḥarbu ˈawzārahā ḏālika wa-law yašāˈu llāhu la-ntaṣara minhum wa-lākin li-yabluwa baʿḍakum bi-baʿḍin wa-llaḏīna qutilū fī sabīli llāhi fa-lan yuḍilla ˈaʿmālahum

   When you meet the faithless in battle, strike their necks. When you have thoroughly decimated them, bind the captives firmly. Thereafter either oblige them [by setting them free] or take ransom, until the war lays down its burdens. That [is Allah’s ordinance]. Had Allah wished He could have taken vengeance on them, but that He may test some of you by means of others. As for those who were slain in the way of Allah, He will not let their works go fruitless.

5. 47:5

   سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ﴿٥﴾

   sa-yahdīhim wa-yuṣliḥu bālahum

   He will guide them and set right their affairs,

6. 47:6

   وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ﴿٦﴾

   wa-yudḫiluhumu l-ǧannata ʿarrafahā lahum

   and admit them into paradise, with which He has acquainted them.

7. 47:7

   يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تَنصُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ﴿٧﴾

   yā-ˈayyuhā llaḏīna ˈāmanū ˈin tanṣurū llāha yanṣurkum wa-yuṯabbit ˈaqdāmakum

   O you who have faith! If you help Allah, He will help you and make your feet steady.

8. 47:8

   وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ﴿٨﴾

   wa-llaḏīna kafarū fa-taʿsan lahum wa-ˈaḍalla ˈaʿmālahum

   As for the faithless, their lot will be to fall [into ruin], and He will render their works fruitless.

9. 47:9

   ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ﴿٩﴾

   ḏālika bi-ˈannahum karihū mā ˈanzala llāhu fa-ˈaḥbaṭa ˈaʿmālahum

   That is because they loathed what Allah has sent down, so He made their works fail.

10. 47:10

    أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ دَمَّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْثَـٰلُهَا﴿١٠﴾

    ˈa-fa-lam yasīrū fī l-ˈarḍi fa-yanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu llaḏīna min qablihim dammara llāhu ʿalayhim wa-li-l-kāfirīna ˈamṯāluhā

    Have they not travelled through the land so that they may observe how was the fate of those who were before them? Allah destroyed them, and a similar [fate] awaits these faithless.

11. 47:11

    ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَوْلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَأَنَّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ لَا مَوْلَىٰ لَهُمْ﴿١١﴾

    ḏālika bi-ˈanna llāha mawlā llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ˈanna l-kāfirīna lā mawlā lahum

    That is because Allah is the protector of the faithful, and because the faithless have no protector.

12. 47:12

    إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَتَمَتَّعُونَ وَيَأْكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمُ وَٱلنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ﴿١٢﴾

    ˈinna llāha yudḫilu llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti ǧannātin taǧrī min taḥtihā l-ˈanhāru wa-llaḏīna kafarū yatamattaʿūna wa-yaˈkulūna ka-mā taˈkulu l-ˈanʿāmu wa-n-nāru maṯwan lahum

    Indeed Allah will admit those who have faith and do righteous deeds into gardens with streams running in them. As for the faithless, they enjoy and eat like the cattle do, and the Fire will be their [final] abode.

13. 47:13

    وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ هِىَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّن قَرْيَتِكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ﴿١٣﴾

    wa-ka-ˈayyin min qaryatin hiya ˈašaddu quwwatan min qaryatika llatī ˈaḫraǧatka ˈahlaknāhum fa-lā nāṣira lahum

    How many a town We have destroyed which was more powerful than your town which expelled you, and they had no helper.

14. 47:14

    أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ كَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُم﴿١٤﴾

    ˈa-fa-man kāna ʿalā bayyinatin min rabbihī ka-man zuyyina lahū sūˈu ʿamalihī wa-ttabaʿū ˈahwāˈahum

    Is he who stands on a manifest proof from his Lord like those to whom the evil of their conduct is made to seem decorous and who follow their desires?

15. 47:15

    مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ فِيهَآ أَنْهَـٰرٌ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيْرِ ءَاسِنٍ وَأَنْهَـٰرٌ مِّن لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُۥ وَأَنْهَـٰرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ وَأَنْهَـٰرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَـٰلِدٌ فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَسُقُوا۟ مَآءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَآءَهُمْ﴿١٥﴾

    maṯalu l-ǧannati llatī wuʿida l-muttaqūna fīhā ˈanhārun min māˈin ġayri ˈāsinin wa-ˈanhārun min labanin lam yataġayyar ṭaʿmuhū wa-ˈanhārun min ḫamrin laḏḏatin li-š-šāribīna wa-ˈanhārun min ʿasalin muṣaffan wa-lahum fīhā min kulli ṯ-ṯamarāti wa-maġfiratun min rabbihim ka-man huwa ḫālidun fī n-nāri wa-suqū māˈan ḥamīman fa-qaṭṭaʿa ˈamʿāˈahum

    A description of the paradise promised to the Godwary: therein are streams of unstaling water and streams of milk unchanging in flavour, and streams of wine delicious to the drinkers, and streams of purified honey; there will be every kind of fruit in it for them, and forgiveness from their Lord. [Are such ones] like those who abide in the Fire and are given to drink boiling water which cuts up their bowels?

16. 47:16

    وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا خَرَجُوا۟ مِنْ عِندِكَ قَالُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ ءَانِفًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ﴿١٦﴾

    wa-minhum man yastamiʿu ˈilayka ḥattā ˈiḏā ḫaraǧū min ʿindika qālū li-llaḏīna ˈūtū l-ʿilma māḏā qāla ˈānifan ˈulāˈika llaḏīna ṭabaʿa llāhu ʿalā qulūbihim wa-ttabaʿū ˈahwāˈahum

    There are some among them who prick up their ears at you. But when they go out from your presence, they say to those who have been given knowledge, ‘What did he say just now?’ They are the ones on whose hearts Allah has set a seal, and they follow their own desires.

17. 47:17

    وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ تَقْوَىٰهُمْ﴿١٧﴾

    wa-llaḏīna htadaw zādahum hudan wa-ˈātāhum taqwāhum

    As for those who are [rightly] guided, He enhances their guidance and invests them with their Godwariness.

18. 47:18

    فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً ۖ فَقَدْ جَآءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمْ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَىٰهُمْ﴿١٨﴾

    fa-hal yanẓurūna ˈillā s-sāʿata ˈan taˈtiyahum baġtatan fa-qad ǧāˈa ˈašrāṭuhā fa-ˈannā lahum ˈiḏā ǧāˈathum ḏikrāhum

    Do they await anything except that the Hour should overtake them suddenly? Its portents have already come. When it overtakes them of what avail will the admonitions they were given?

19. 47:19

    فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَىٰكُمْ﴿١٩﴾

    fa-ʿlam ˈannahū lā ˈilāha ˈillā llāhu wa-staġfir li-ḏanbika wa-li-l-muˈminīna wa-l-muˈmināti wa-llāhu yaʿlamu mutaqallabakum wa-maṯwākum

    Know that there is no god except Allah, and plead [to Allah] for forgiveness of your sin and for the faithful, men and women. Allah knows your itinerary and your [final] abode.

20. 47:20

    وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُورَةٌ ۖ فَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ مُّحْكَمَةٌ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا ٱلْقِتَالُ ۙ رَأَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ ٱلْمَغْشِىِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ فَأَوْلَىٰ لَهُمْ﴿٢٠﴾

    wa-yaqūlu llaḏīna ˈāmanū law-lā nuzzilat sūratun fa-ˈiḏā ˈunzilat sūratun muḥkamatun wa-ḏukira fīhā l-qitālu raˈayta llaḏīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun yanẓurūna ˈilayka naẓara l-maġšiyyi ʿalayhi mina l-mawti fa-ˈawlā lahum

    The faithful say, ‘If only a surah were sent down!’ But when a conclusive surah is sent down and war is mentioned in it, you see those in whose hearts is a sickness looking upon you with the look of someone fainting at death. So woe to them!

21. 47:21

    طَاعَةٌ وَقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ ۚ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ ٱلْأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ﴿٢١﴾

    ṭāʿatun wa-qawlun maʿrūfun fa-ˈiḏā ʿazama l-ˈamru fa-law ṣadaqū llāha la-kāna ḫayran lahum

    Obedience and upright speech.... So when the matter has been resolved upon [concerning going to war], if they remain true to Allah that will surely be better for them.

22. 47:22

    فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَن تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوٓا۟ أَرْحَامَكُمْ﴿٢٢﴾

    fa-hal ʿasaytum ˈin tawallaytum ˈan tufsidū fī l-ˈarḍi wa-tuqaṭṭiʿū ˈarḥāmakum

    May it not be that if you were to wield authority you would cause corruption in the land and ill-treat your blood relations?

23. 47:23

    أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَىٰٓ أَبْصَـٰرَهُمْ﴿٢٣﴾

    ˈulāˈika llaḏīna laʿanahumu llāhu fa-ˈaṣammahum wa-ˈaʿmā ˈabṣārahum

    They are the ones whom Allah has cursed, so He made them deaf, and blinded their sight.

24. 47:24

    أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ أَمْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَآ﴿٢٤﴾

    ˈa-fa-lā yatadabbarūna l-qurˈāna ˈam ʿalā qulūbin ˈaqfāluhā

    Do they not contemplate the Quran, or are there locks on the hearts?

25. 47:25

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱرْتَدُّوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَدْبَـٰرِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَى ۙ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْ وَأَمْلَىٰ لَهُمْ﴿٢٥﴾

    ˈinna llaḏīna rtaddū ʿalā ˈadbārihim min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahumu l-hudā š-šayṭānu sawwala lahum wa-ˈamlā lahum

    Indeed those who turned their backs after the guidance had become clear to them, it was Satan who had seduced them, and he had given them [far-flung] hopes.

26. 47:26

    ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُوا۟ مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ سَنُطِيعُكُمْ فِى بَعْضِ ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِسْرَارَهُمْ﴿٢٦﴾

    ḏālika bi-ˈannahum qālū li-llaḏīna karihū mā nazzala llāhu sa-nuṭīʿukum fī baʿḍi l-ˈamri wa-llāhu yaʿlamu ˈisrārahum

    That is because they said to those who loathed what Allah had sent down: ‘We shall obey you in some matters,’ and Allah knows their secret dealings.

27. 47:27

    فَكَيْفَ إِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَـٰرَهُمْ﴿٢٧﴾

    fa-kayfa ˈiḏā tawaffathumu l-malāˈikatu yaḍribūna wuǧūhahum wa-ˈadbārahum

    But how will it be [with them] when the angels take them away, striking their faces and their backs?!

28. 47:28

    ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَآ أَسْخَطَ ٱللَّهَ وَكَرِهُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ﴿٢٨﴾

    ḏālika bi-ˈannahumu ttabaʿū mā ˈasḫaṭa llāha wa-karihū riḍwānahū fa-ˈaḥbaṭa ˈaʿmālahum

    That, because they pursued what displeased Allah, and loathed His pleasure. So He has made their works fail.

29. 47:29

    أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَن لَّن يُخْرِجَ ٱللَّهُ أَضْغَـٰنَهُمْ﴿٢٩﴾

    ˈam ḥasiba llaḏīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun ˈan lan yuḫriǧa llāhu ˈaḍġānahum

    Do those in whose hearts is a sickness suppose that Allah will not expose their spite?

30. 47:30

    وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَأَرَيْنَـٰكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُم بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ ۚ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِى لَحْنِ ٱلْقَوْلِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَـٰلَكُمْ﴿٣٠﴾

    wa-law našāˈu la-ˈaraynākahum fa-la-ʿaraftahum bi-sīmāhum wa-la-taʿrifannahum fī laḥni l-qawli wa-llāhu yaʿlamu ˈaʿmālakum

    If We wish, We will show them to you so that you recognize them by their mark. Yet you will recognize them by their tone of speech, and Allah knows your deeds.

31. 47:31

    وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ مِنكُمْ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ وَنَبْلُوَا۟ أَخْبَارَكُمْ﴿٣١﴾

    wa-la-nabluwannakum ḥattā naʿlama l-muǧāhidīna minkum wa-ṣ-ṣābirīna wa-nabluwa ˈaḫbārakum

    We will surely test you until We ascertain those of you who wage jihad and those who are steadfast, and We shall appraise your record.

32. 47:32

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ﴿٣٢﴾

    ˈinna llaḏīna kafarū wa-ṣaddū ʿan sabīli llāhi wa-šāqqū r-rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahumu l-hudā lan yaḍurrū llāha šayˈan wa-sa-yuḥbiṭu ˈaʿmālahum

    Indeed those who are faithless and bar from the way of Allah and defy the Apostle after guidance has become clear to them, they will not hurt Allah in the least, and He shall make their works fail.

33. 47:33

    يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوٓا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَكُمْ﴿٣٣﴾

    yā-ˈayyuhā llaḏīna ˈāmanū ˈaṭīʿū llāha wa-ˈaṭīʿū r-rasūla wa-lā tubṭilū ˈaʿmālakum

    O you who have faith! Obey Allah and obey the Apostle, and do not render your works void.

34. 47:34

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ﴿٣٤﴾

    ˈinna llaḏīna kafarū wa-ṣaddū ʿan sabīli llāhi ṯumma mātū wa-hum kuffārun fa-lan yaġfira llāhu lahum

    Indeed those who are faithless and bar from the way of Allah and then die faithless, Allah will never forgive them.

35. 47:35

    فَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَتَدْعُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّلْمِ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ وَٱللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَن يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَـٰلَكُمْ﴿٣٥﴾

    fa-lā tahinū wa-tadʿū ˈilā s-salmi wa-ˈantumu l-ˈaʿlawna wa-llāhu maʿakum wa-lan yatirakum ˈaʿmālakum

    So do not slacken and [do not] call for peace when you have the upper hand and Allah is with you, and He will not stint [the reward of] your works.

36. 47:36

    إِنَّمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ ۚ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْـَٔلْكُمْ أَمْوَٰلَكُمْ﴿٣٦﴾

    ˈinnamā l-ḥayātu d-dunyā laʿibun wa-lahwun wa-ˈin tuˈminū wa-tattaqū yuˈtikum ˈuǧūrakum wa-lā yasˈalkum ˈamwālakum

    The life of the world is just play and diversion, but if you are faithful and Godwary, He will give you your rewards, and will not ask your wealth [in return] from you.

37. 47:37

    إِن يَسْـَٔلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا۟ وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَـٰنَكُمْ﴿٣٧﴾

    ˈin yasˈalkumūhā fa-yuḥfikum tabḫalū wa-yuḫriǧ ˈaḍġānakum

    Should He ask it from you and press you, you will be stingy, and He will expose your spite.

38. 47:38

    هَـٰٓأَنتُمْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنفِقُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَمِنكُم مَّن يَبْخَلُ ۖ وَمَن يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلْغَنِىُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ ۚ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوٓا۟ أَمْثَـٰلَكُم﴿٣٨﴾

    hā-ˈantum hāˈulāˈi tudʿawna li-tunfiqū fī sabīli llāhi fa-minkum man yabḫalu wa-man yabḫal fa-ˈinnamā yabḫalu ʿan nafsihī wa-llāhu l-ġaniyyu wa-ˈantumu l-fuqarāˈu wa-ˈin tatawallaw yastabdil qawman ġayrakum ṯumma lā yakūnū ˈamṯālakum

    Ah! There you are, being invited to spend in the way of Allah; yet among you there are those who are stingy; and whoever is stingy is stingy only to himself. Allah is the All-sufficient, and you are all-needy, and if you turn away He will replace you with another people, and they will not be like you.
