Surah Al-Bayyina

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 98:1

   لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ﴿١﴾

   lam yakuni llaḏīna kafarū min ˈahli l-kitābi wa-l-mušrikīna munfakkīna ḥattā taˈtiyahumu l-bayyinatu

   The faithless from among the People of the Book and the polytheists were not set apart [from the community of the faithful] until the proof had come to them:

2. 98:2

   رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً﴿٢﴾

   rasūlun mina llāhi yatlū ṣuḥufan muṭahharatan

   an apostle from Allah reciting impeccable scriptures,

3. 98:3

   فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ﴿٣﴾

   fīhā kutubun qayyimatun

   wherein are upright writings.

4. 98:4

   وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ﴿٤﴾

   wa-mā tafarraqa llaḏīna ˈūtū l-kitāba ˈillā min baʿdi mā ǧāˈathumu l-bayyinatu

   Those who were given the Book did not divide except after the proof had come to them.

5. 98:5

   وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ﴿٥﴾

   wa-mā ˈumirū ˈillā li-yaʿbudū llāha muḫliṣīna lahu d-dīna ḥunafāˈa wa-yuqīmū ṣ-ṣalāta wa-yuˈtū z-zakāta wa-ḏālika dīnu l-qayyimati

   Though they were not commanded except to worship Allah, dedicating their faith to Him as men of pure faith, and to maintain the prayer and pay the zakat. That is the upright religion.

6. 98:6

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ﴿٦﴾

   ˈinna llaḏīna kafarū min ˈahli l-kitābi wa-l-mušrikīna fī nāri ǧahannama ḫālidīna fīhā ˈulāˈika hum šarru l-bariyyati

   Indeed the faithless from among the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the fire of hell, to remain in it [forever]. It is they who are the worst of creatures.

7. 98:7

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ﴿٧﴾

   ˈinna llaḏīna ˈāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti ˈulāˈika hum ḫayru l-bariyyati

   Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—it is they who are the best of creatures.

8. 98:8

   جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۖ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ رَبَّهُۥ﴿٨﴾

   ǧazāˈuhum ʿinda rabbihim ǧannātu ʿadnin taǧrī min taḥtihā l-ˈanhāru ḫālidīna fīhā ˈabadan raḍiya llāhu ʿanhum wa-raḍū ʿanhu ḏālika li-man ḫašiya rabbahū

   Their reward, near their Lord, is the Gardens of Eden, with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is for those who fear their Lord.
