يَا فَاطِمَةُ يَا حِرْزَ هَذَا الْكَوْكَبِ السَّيَّارِO Fatima, O sanctuary of this wandering planet!

لَا تَرْحَلِي فِي النَّعْشِ بِالْمِسْمَارِDo not depart in the coffin with the wound of the nail,

لَا تَمْلَئِي صَدْرِي مِنَ الْآنَّاتِdo not fill my chest with groans of grief.

يَا فَاطِمَةُ قُومِي اقْرَئِي الْقُرْآنَ خَلْفَ الْبَابِO Fatima, rise and recite the Quran behind the door,

كَمَا عَوَّدْتِينِيjust as you used to do,

إِنِّي أُحِبُّ دُعَاءَكِ فِي الْمِحْرَابِfor I love hearing your supplications in the prayer niche.

يَا زَهْرَةً ذَابَتْ عَلَى أَعْتَابِيO flower that wilted at my threshold,

قَلْبُ الْـThe heart of...

قَلْبُ الْإِمَامِ عَلَيْكِ فِي حَسَرَاتِThe heart of the Imam aches for you with sorrows.

نَفْسِي عَلَى زَفَرَاتِهَا مَحْبُوسَةٌ (2x)My soul is trapped within its sighing breaths,

يَا لَيْتَهَا خَرَجَتْ مَعَwould that it had departed along with...

لَا خَيْرَ بَعْدَكِ فِي الحَيَاةِ (2x)There is no good in life after you,

وَإِنَّمَا أَبْكِي مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تَطُولَ حَيَاتِيAnd I only weep out of fear that my life will drag on.

الله يَا زَهْرَاءُO Allah! O Zahra!

يَا زَهْرَاءُ (3x)O Zahra!

لَا تَرْحَلِي يَا زَهْرَةَ الأَرْوَاحِDo not depart, O flower of our souls!

قُومِي لِنَذْكُرَ عَاشِرَ الأَجْرَاحِArise, so we may recall the tenth of wounds,

نَبْكِي حَدِيثَ الخَمْسَةِ الأَشْبَاحِAnd weep for the tale of the Five Luminous Figures,

تَحْتَ السَّنَابِكِ نَازِفَ الشَّهَقَاتِBeneath the hooves, bleeding in dying gasps.

مَاذَا يَقُولُ أَمِيرُ المُؤْمِنِينَ بِلِسَانِ الحَالِ؟What does the Commander of the Faithful say through his grief?

لَا خَيْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا بِلَا الزَّهْرَاءِThere is no good in this world without al-Zahra.

يَلَّا أَنَا وَيَّاك نِقْرَاهَاCome, let us recite it together:

لَا خَيْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا بِلَا الزَّهْرَاءِThere is no good in this world without al-Zahra.

صُبَّتْ عَلَيَّ مَصَائِبُ الأَرْزَاءِCalamities of grief have poured upon me,

الآنَ تَبْدَأُ كَرْبَلَائِي إِذًاNow, then, begins my Karbala,

وَتَشُقُّ قَلْبِي أَسْهُمُ الآهَاتِAnd arrows of agonizing sighs pierce my heart.

نَفْسِي عَلَى زَفَرَاتِهَا (2x)My soul is trapped within its sighs,

يَا لَيْتَهَا خَرَجَتْ مَعَ الزَّفَرَاتِWould that it departed along with those sighs!
