Dua
دعاء الحج
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bism il-laahir-rah'man ir-rah'eem
In the Name of God, the All-Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
اللّهُمَّ إنِّي بِكَ وَمِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ حَاجَتِي،
allahumma inni bika waminka atlubu hajati
O Allah: From You and by You, I beseech for settling my need,
وَمَنْ طَلَبَ حَاجَةً إلَى النَّاسِ
waman talaba hajatan ilan-nas
If others beg people for settling their needs,
فَإنِّي لا أَطْلُبُ حَاجَتِي إلا مِنْكَ
fa-inni la atlubu hajati illa mink
I ask none except You for settling my need;
وَحْدَكَ لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ،
wahdaka la sharika lak
From You alone, since You have no partner with You
وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِفَضْلِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ
wa-as`aluka bifadlika waridwanik
and I thus implore You in the name of Your favor and Your pleasure,
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa-ahli baytih
to send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household,
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِي فِي عَامِي هذَا إلَى بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ سَبِيلاً
wa-an taj'ala li fi `ami hadha ila baytikal-harami sabila
And to choose for me a way to Your Holy House this year:
حِجَّةً مَبْرُورَةً مُتَقَبَّلَةً زَاكِيةً خَالِصَةً لَكَ
hijjatan mabruratan mutaqabbalatan zakiyatan khalisatan lak
A pilgrimage that is admitted, accepted, pure, and sincerely for You
تَقَرُّ بِهَا عَيْنِي،
taqarru biha `ayni
By which You delight me,
وَتَرْفَعُ بِهَا دَرَجَتِي،
watarfa’u biha darajati
And raise my rank with You
وَتَرْزُقَنِي أَنْ أَغُضَّ بَصَرِي،
watarzuqani an aghudda basari
And to confer upon me with the grace of making me cast my sight down (against what is illegal for me to look at)
وَأَنْ أَحْفَظَ فَرْجِي،
wa-an ahfaza farji
And making me act chastely
وَأَنْ أَكُفَّ بِهَا عَنْ جَمِيعِ مَحَارِمِكَ
wa-an akuffa biha `an jami’i maharimik
And making me stop committing any deed that You have deemed unlawful
حَتَّى لا يَكُونَ شَيْءٌ آثَرَ عِنْدِي مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ وَخَشْيَتِكَ
hatta la yakuna shay`un athara `indi min ta’atika wakhashyatik
So that nothing will be more preferred in my sight than the obedience to You and the fear of You
وَالْعَمَلِ بِمَا أَحْبَبْتَ،
wal-`amali bima ahbabta
And doing all that which You love,
وَالتَّرْكِ لِمَا كَرِهْتَ وَنَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ،
wat-tarki lima karihta wanahayta `anh
And avoiding all that which You have detested and warned against.
وَاجْعَلْ ذلِكَ فِي يُسْرٍ وَيَسَارٍ وَعَافِيَةٍ وَمَا أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ،
waj’al dhalika fi yusrin wayasarin wa-`afiyatin wama an’amta bihi `alayy
And (please) make all that take place with easiness, lenience, and good health as well as the grave that You have bestowed upon me.
وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ وَفَاتِي قَتْلاً فِي سَبِيلِكَ
wa-as`aluka an tahala wafati qatlan fi sabilik
And I beseech You to cause me to die as martyr for Your sake,
تَحْتَ رَايَةِ نَبِيِّكَ مَعَ أَوْلِيَائِكَ،
tahta rayati nabiyyik ma’a awliya`ik
Under the pennon of Your Prophet and in the line of Your intimate servants.
وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ بِي أَعْدَاءَكَ وَأَعْدَاءَ رَسُولِكَ،
wa-as`aluka an taqtula bi a’da`aka wa-a’da`a rasulik
And I ask You to make me the means of killing Your enemies and the enemies of Your Messenger.
وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُكْرِمَنِي بِهَوَانِ مَنْ شِئْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa-as`aluka an tukrimani bihawani man shi`ta min khalqik
And I ask You to honor me through humiliating any one of Your created beings that You choose,
وَلا تُهِنِّي بِكَرَامَةِ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ.
wala tuhinni bikaramati ahadin min awliya`ik
And not to humiliate me through honoring any of Your intimate servants.
اللّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لِي مَعَ الرَّسُولِ سَبِيلاً،
allahummaj’al li ma’ar-rasuli sabila
O Allah: find me a way with the Messenger.
حَسْبِيَ اللّهُ، مَا شَاءَ اللّهُ.
hasbiyallahu ma sha’ allah.
Allah is Sufficient unto me! Only that which Allah wants shall take place.
