Surah Al-Furqaan

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 25:1

   تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَـٰلَمِينَ نَذِيرًا﴿١﴾

   tabāraka llaḏī nazzala l-furqāna ʿalā ʿabdihī li-yakūna li-l-ʿālamīna naḏīran-i

   Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion to His servant that he may be a warner to all the nations.

2. 25:2

   ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٌ فِى ٱلْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ تَقْدِيرًا﴿٢﴾

   allaḏī lahū mulku s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍi wa-lam yattaḫiḏ waladan wa-lam yakun lahū šarīkun fī l-mulki wa-ḫalaqa kulla šayˈin fa-qaddarahū taqdīran

   He, to whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and who did not take any offspring, nor has He any partner in sovereignty, and He created everything and determined it in a precise measure.

3. 25:3

   وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً لَّا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَوٰةً وَلَا نُشُورًا﴿٣﴾

   wa-ttaḫaḏū min dūnihī ˈālihatan lā yaḫluqūna šayˈan wa-hum yuḫlaqūna wa-lā yamlikūna li-ˈanfusihim ḍarran wa-lā nafʿan wa-lā yamlikūna mawtan wa-lā ḥayātan wa-lā nušūran

   Yet they have taken gods besides Him who create nothing and have themselves been created, and who have no control over their own harm or benefit and have no control over [their own] death, life, or resurrection.

4. 25:4

   وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفْكٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ وَأَعَانَهُۥ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ ءَاخَرُونَ ۖ فَقَدْ جَآءُو ظُلْمًا وَزُورًا﴿٤﴾

   wa-qāla llaḏīna kafarū ˈin hāḏā ˈillā ˈifkun-i ftarāhu wa-ˈaʿānahū ʿalayhi qawmun ˈāḫarūna fa-qad ǧāˈū ẓulman wa-zūran

   The faithless say, ‘This is nothing but a lie that he has fabricated, and other people have abetted him in it.’ Thus they have certainly come out with wrongdoing and falsehood.

5. 25:5

   وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٱكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِىَ تُمْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا﴿٥﴾

   wa-qālū ˈasāṭīru l-ˈawwalīna ktatabahā fa-hiya tumlā ʿalayhi bukratan wa-ˈaṣīlan

   They say, ‘He has taken down myths of the ancients, and they are dictated to him morning and evening.’

6. 25:6

   قُلْ أَنزَلَهُ ٱلَّذِى يَعْلَمُ ٱلسِّرَّ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا﴿٦﴾

   qul ˈanzalahu llaḏī yaʿlamu s-sirra fī s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍi ˈinnahū kāna ġafūran raḥīman

   Say, ‘It has been sent down by Him who knows the hidden in the heavens and the earth. Indeed He is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’

7. 25:7

   وَقَالُوا۟ مَالِ هَـٰذَا ٱلرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِى فِى ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُۥ نَذِيرًا﴿٧﴾

   wa-qālū mā-li hāḏā r-rasūli yaˈkulu ṭ-ṭaʿāma wa-yamšī fī l-ˈaswāqi law-lā ˈunzila ˈilayhi malakun fa-yakūna maʿahū naḏīran

   And they say, ‘What sort of apostle is this who eats food and walks in the marketplaces? Why has not an angel been sent down to him so as to be a warner along with him?’

8. 25:8

   أَوْ يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ تَكُونُ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَقَالَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُورًا﴿٨﴾

   ˈaw yulqā ˈilayhi kanzun ˈaw takūnu lahū ǧannatun yaˈkulu minhā wa-qāla ẓ-ẓālimūna ˈin tattabiʿūna ˈillā raǧulan masḥūran-i

   Or, ‘[Why is not] a treasure thrown to him, or [why does] he [not] have a garden from which he may eat?’ And the wrongdoers say, ‘You are just following a bewitched man.’

9. 25:9

   ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا﴿٩﴾

   unẓur kayfa ḍarabū laka l-ˈamṯāla fa-ḍallū fa-lā yastaṭīʿūna sabīlan

   Look, how they coin epithets for you; so they go astray, and cannot find the way.

10. 25:10

    تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِن شَآءَ جَعَلَ لَكَ خَيْرًا مِّن ذَٰلِكَ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ وَيَجْعَل لَّكَ قُصُورًۢا﴿١٠﴾

    tabāraka llaḏī ˈin šāˈa ǧaʿala laka ḫayran min ḏālika ǧannātin taǧrī min taḥtihā l-ˈanhāru wa-yaǧʿal laka quṣūran

    Blessed is He who will grant you better than that if He wishes—gardens with streams running in them, and He will make for you palaces.

11. 25:11

    بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا﴿١١﴾

    bal kaḏḏabū bi-s-sāʿati wa-ˈaʿtadnā li-man kaḏḏaba bi-s-sāʿati saʿīran

    Indeed, they deny the Hour, and We have prepared a Blaze for those who deny the Hour.

12. 25:12

    إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا﴿١٢﴾

    ˈiḏā raˈathum min makānin baʿīdin samiʿū lahā taġayyuẓan wa-zafīran

    When it sights them from a distant place, they will hear it raging and roaring.

13. 25:13

    وَإِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُّقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا۟ هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا﴿١٣﴾

    wa-ˈiḏā ˈulqū minhā makānan ḍayyiqan muqarranīna daʿaw hunālika ṯubūran

    And when they are cast into a narrow place in it, bound together [in chains], they will pray for [their own] annihilation.

14. 25:14

    لَّا تَدْعُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَٰحِدًا وَٱدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا﴿١٤﴾

    lā tadʿū l-yawma ṯubūran wāḥidan wa-dʿū ṯubūran kaṯīran

    [They will be told:] ‘Do not pray for a single annihilation today, but pray for many annihilations!’

15. 25:15

    قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ ٱلْخُلْدِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَآءً وَمَصِيرًا﴿١٥﴾

    qul ˈa-ḏālika ḫayrun ˈam ǧannatu l-ḫuldi llatī wuʿida l-muttaqūna kānat lahum ǧazāˈan wa-maṣīran

    Say, ‘Is that better, or the everlasting paradise promised to the Godwary, which will be their reward and destination?’

16. 25:16

    لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ خَـٰلِدِينَ ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَّسْـُٔولًا﴿١٦﴾

    lahum fīhā mā yašāˈūna ḫālidīna kāna ʿalā rabbika waʿdan masˈūlan

    There they will have whatever they wish, abiding [forever]—a promise [much] besought, [binding] on your Lord.

17. 25:17

    وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ ءَأَنتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِى هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا۟ ٱلسَّبِيلَ﴿١٧﴾

    wa-yawma yaḥšuruhum wa-mā yaʿbudūna min dūni llāhi fa-yaqūlu ˈa-ˈantum ˈaḍlaltum ʿibādī hāˈulāˈi ˈam hum ḍallū s-sabīla

    On the day that He will muster them and those whom they worship besides Allah, He will say, ‘Was it you who led astray these servants of Mine, or did they themselves stray from the way?’

18. 25:18

    قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۢبَغِى لَنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ مِن دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَـٰكِن مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بُورًا﴿١٨﴾

    qālū subḥānaka mā kāna yanbaġī lanā ˈan nattaḫiḏa min dūnika min ˈawliyāˈa wa-lākin mattaʿtahum wa-ˈābāˈahum ḥattā nasū ḏ-ḏikra wa-kānū qawman būran

    They will say, ‘Immaculate are You! It does not behoove us to take any wali in Your stead! But You provided for them and their fathers until they forgot the Reminder, and they were a ruined lot.’

19. 25:19

    فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوكُم بِمَا تَقُولُونَ فَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَ صَرْفًا وَلَا نَصْرًا ۚ وَمَن يَظْلِم مِّنكُمْ نُذِقْهُ عَذَابًا كَبِيرًا﴿١٩﴾

    fa-qad kaḏḏabūkum bi-mā taqūlūna fa-mā tastaṭīʿūna ṣarfan wa-lā naṣran wa-man yaẓlim minkum nuḏiqhu ʿaḏāban kabīran

    So they will certainly impugn you in what you say, and you will neither be able to circumvent [punishment] nor find help, and whoever of you does wrong, We shall make him taste a terrible punishment.

20. 25:20

    وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِى ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۗ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا﴿٢٠﴾

    wa-mā ˈarsalnā qablaka mina l-mursalīna ˈillā ˈinnahum la-yaˈkulūna ṭ-ṭaʿāma wa-yamšūna fī l-ˈaswāqi wa-ǧaʿalnā baʿḍakum li-baʿḍin fitnatan ˈa-taṣbirūna wa-kāna rabbuka baṣīran

    We did not send any apostles before you but that they indeed ate food and walked in marketplaces. We have made you a [means of] test for one another, [to see] if you will be patient and steadfast, and your Lord is all-seeing.

21. 25:21

    وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ نَرَىٰ رَبَّنَا ۗ لَقَدِ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُتُوًّا كَبِيرًا﴿٢١﴾

    wa-qāla llaḏīna lā yarǧūna liqāˈanā law-lā ˈunzila ʿalaynā l-malāˈikatu ˈaw narā rabbanā la-qadi stakbarū fī ˈanfusihim wa-ʿataw ʿutuwwan kabīran

    Those who do not expect to encounter Us say, ‘Why have angels not been sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?’ Certainly, they are full of arrogance within their souls and have become terribly defiant.

22. 25:22

    يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ لَا بُشْرَىٰ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ وَيَقُولُونَ حِجْرًا مَّحْجُورًا﴿٢٢﴾

    yawma yarawna l-malāˈikata lā bušrā yawmaˈiḏin li-l-muǧrimīna wa-yaqūlūna ḥiǧran maḥǧūran

    The day they will see the angels, there will be no good news for the guilty on that day, and they will say, ‘Keep off [from paradise]!’

23. 25:23

    وَقَدِمْنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ هَبَآءً مَّنثُورًا﴿٢٣﴾

    wa-qadimnā ˈilā mā ʿamilū min ʿamalin fa-ǧaʿalnāhu habāˈan manṯūran

    Then We shall attend to the works they have done and then turn them into scattered dust.

24. 25:24

    أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَيْرٌ مُّسْتَقَرًّا وَأَحْسَنُ مَقِيلًا﴿٢٤﴾

    ˈaṣḥābu l-ǧannati yawmaˈiḏin ḫayrun mustaqarran wa-ˈaḥsanu maqīlan

    On that day the inhabitants of paradise will be in the best abode and an excellent resting place.

25. 25:25

    وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِٱلْغَمَـٰمِ وَنُزِّلَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ تَنزِيلًا﴿٢٥﴾

    wa-yawma tašaqqaqu s-samāˈu bi-l-ġamāmi wa-nuzzila l-malāˈikatu tanzīlan-i

    The day when the sky with its clouds will be split open, and the angels will be sent down [in a majestic] descent,

26. 25:26

    ٱلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَسِيرًا﴿٢٦﴾

    al-mulku yawmaˈiḏin-i l-ḥaqqu li-r-raḥmāni wa-kāna yawman ʿalā l-kāfirīna ʿasīran

    on that day true sovereignty will belong to the All-beneficent, and it will be a hard day for the faithless.

27. 25:27

    وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًا﴿٢٧﴾

    wa-yawma yaʿaḍḍu ẓ-ẓālimu ʿalā yadayhi yaqūlu yā-laytanī ttaḫaḏtu maʿa r-rasūli sabīlan

    It will be a day when the wrongdoer will bite his hands, saying, ‘I wish I had followed the Apostle’s way!

28. 25:28

    يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًا﴿٢٨﴾

    yā-waylatā laytanī lam ˈattaḫiḏ fulānan ḫalīlan

    Woe to me! I wish I had not taken so and so as a friend!

29. 25:29

    لَّقَدْ أَضَلَّنِى عَنِ ٱلذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَآءَنِى ۗ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ خَذُولًا﴿٢٩﴾

    la-qad ˈaḍallanī ʿani ḏ-ḏikri baʿda ˈiḏ ǧāˈanī wa-kāna š-šayṭānu li-l-ˈinsāni ḫaḏūlan

    Certainly he led me astray from the Reminder after it had come to me, and Satan is a deserter of man.’

30. 25:30

    وَقَالَ ٱلرَّسُولُ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مَهْجُورًا﴿٣٠﴾

    wa-qāla r-rasūlu yā-rabbi ˈinna qawmī ttaḫaḏū hāḏā l-qurˈāna mahǧūran

    And the Apostle will say, ‘O my Lord! Indeed my people consigned this Quran to oblivion.’

31. 25:31

    وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّا مِّنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَنَصِيرًا﴿٣١﴾

    wa-ka-ḏālika ǧaʿalnā li-kulli nabiyyin ʿaduwwan mina l-muǧrimīna wa-kafā bi-rabbika hādiyan wa-naṣīran

    That is how for every prophet We assigned an enemy from among the guilty, and your Lord suffices as helper and guide.

32. 25:32

    وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ جُمْلَةً وَٰحِدَةً ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ ۖ وَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُ تَرْتِيلًا﴿٣٢﴾

    wa-qāla llaḏīna kafarū law-lā nuzzila ʿalayhi l-qurˈānu ǧumlatan wāḥidatan ka-ḏālika li-nuṯabbita bihī fuˈādaka wa-rattalnāhu tartīlan

    The faithless say, ‘Why has not the Quran been sent down to him all at once?’ So it was, that We may strengthen your heart with it, and We have recited it [to you] in a measured tone.

33. 25:33

    وَلَا يَأْتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا﴿٣٣﴾

    wa-lā yaˈtūnaka bi-maṯalin ˈillā ǧiˈnāka bi-l-ḥaqqi wa-ˈaḥsana tafsīran-i

    They do not bring you any representation but that We bring you the truth [in reply to them] and the best exposition.

34. 25:34

    ٱلَّذِينَ يُحْشَرُونَ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا﴿٣٤﴾

    allaḏīna yuḥšarūna ʿalā wuǧūhihim ˈilā ǧahannama ˈulāˈika šarrun makānan wa-ˈaḍallu sabīlan

    Those who will be mustered [fallen] on their faces toward hell, they are the worse situated and further astray from the [right] way.

35. 25:35

    وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُۥٓ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ وَزِيرًا﴿٣٥﴾

    wa-la-qad ˈātaynā mūsā l-kitāba wa-ǧaʿalnā maʿahū ˈaḫāhu hārūna wazīran

    Certainly We gave Moses the Book and We made Aaron, his brother, accompany him as a minister.

36. 25:36

    فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا﴿٣٦﴾

    fa-qulnā ḏhabā ˈilā l-qawmi llaḏīna kaḏḏabū bi-ˈāyātinā fa-dammarnāhum tadmīran

    Then We said, ‘Let the two of you go to the people who have denied Our signs.’ Then We destroyed them utterly.

37. 25:37

    وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا۟ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ ءَايَةً ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا﴿٣٧﴾

    wa-qawma nūḥin lammā kaḏḏabū r-rusula ˈaġraqnāhum wa-ǧaʿalnāhum li-n-nāsi ˈāyatan wa-ˈaʿtadnā li-ẓ-ẓālimīna ʿaḏāban ˈalīman

    And Noah’s people, We drowned them when they impugned the apostles, and We made them a sign for mankind, and We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.

38. 25:38

    وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًۢا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًا﴿٣٨﴾

    wa-ʿādan wa-ṯamūda wa-ˈaṣḥāba r-rassi wa-qurūnan bayna ḏālika kaṯīran

    And ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Rass, and many generations between them.

39. 25:39

    وَكُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًا﴿٣٩﴾

    wa-kullan ḍarabnā lahu l-ˈamṯāla wa-kullan tabbarnā tatbīran

    For each of them We drew examples, and each We destroyed utterly.

40. 25:40

    وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَى ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا﴿٤٠﴾

    wa-la-qad ˈataw ʿalā l-qaryati llatī ˈumṭirat maṭara s-sawˈi ˈa-fa-lam yakūnū yarawnahā bal kānū lā yarǧūna nušūran

    Certainly they must have passed the town on which an evil shower was rained. Have they not seen it? Rather, they did not expect resurrection [to happen].

41. 25:41

    وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولًا﴿٤١﴾

    wa-ˈiḏā raˈawka ˈin yattaḫiḏūnaka ˈillā huzuwan ˈa-hāḏā llaḏī baʿaṯa llāhu rasūlan

    When they see you they just take you in derision: ‘Is this the one whom Allah has sent as an apostle!?

42. 25:42

    إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا﴿٤٢﴾

    ˈin kāda la-yuḍillunā ʿan ˈālihatinā law-lā ˈan ṣabarnā ʿalayhā wa-sawfa yaʿlamūna ḥīna yarawna l-ʿaḏāba man ˈaḍallu sabīlan

    Indeed he was about to lead us astray from our gods, had we not stood firm by them.’ Soon they will know, when they sight the punishment, who is further astray from the [right] way.

43. 25:43

    أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا﴿٤٣﴾

    ˈa-raˈayta mani ttaḫaḏa ˈilāhahū hawāhu ˈa-fa-ˈanta takūnu ʿalayhi wakīlan

    Have you seen him who has taken his desire to be his god? Is it your duty to watch over him?

44. 25:44

    أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا﴿٤٤﴾

    ˈam taḥsabu ˈanna ˈakṯarahum yasmaʿūna ˈaw yaʿqilūna ˈin hum ˈillā ka-l-ˈanʿāmi bal hum ˈaḍallu sabīlan

    Do you suppose that most of them listen or exercise their reason? They are just like cattle; indeed, they are further astray from the way.

45. 25:45

    أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا﴿٤٥﴾

    ˈa-lam tara ˈilā rabbika kayfa madda ẓ-ẓilla wa-law šāˈa la-ǧaʿalahū sākinan ṯumma ǧaʿalnā š-šamsa ʿalayhi dalīlan

    Have you not regarded how your Lord spreads the twilight? (Had He wished He would have made it stand still.) Then We made the sun a beacon for it.

46. 25:46

    ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًا يَسِيرًا﴿٤٦﴾

    ṯumma qabaḍnāhu ˈilaynā qabḍan yasīran

    Then We retract it toward Ourselves, with a gentle retracting.

47. 25:47

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَٱلنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ نُشُورًا﴿٤٧﴾

    wa-huwa llaḏī ǧaʿala lakumu l-layla libāsan wa-n-nawma subātan wa-ǧaʿala n-nahāra nušūran

    It is He who made for you the night as a covering and sleep for rest and He made the day a recall to life.

48. 25:48

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً طَهُورًا﴿٤٨﴾

    wa-huwa llaḏī ˈarsala r-riyāḥa bušran bayna yaday raḥmatihī wa-ˈanzalnā mina s-samāˈi māˈan ṭahūran

    And it is He who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy, and We send down from the sky purifying water,

49. 25:49

    لِّنُحْـِۧىَ بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَآ أَنْعَـٰمًا وَأَنَاسِىَّ كَثِيرًا﴿٤٩﴾

    li-nuḥyiya bihī baldatan maytan wa-nusqiyahū mimmā ḫalaqnā ˈanʿāman wa-ˈanāsiyya kaṯīran

    with which We revive a dead country and provide water to many of the cattle and humans We have created.

50. 25:50

    وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَـٰهُ بَيْنَهُمْ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًا﴿٥٠﴾

    wa-la-qad ṣarrafnāhu baynahum li-yaḏḏakkarū fa-ˈabā ˈakṯaru n-nāsi ˈillā kufūran

    Certainly We distribute it among them so that they may take admonition. But most people are only intent on ingratitude.

51. 25:51

    وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَبَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ نَّذِيرًا﴿٥١﴾

    wa-law šiˈnā la-baʿaṯnā fī kulli qaryatin naḏīran

    Had We wished, We would have sent a warner to every town.

52. 25:52

    فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ وَجَـٰهِدْهُم بِهِۦ جِهَادًا كَبِيرًا﴿٥٢﴾

    fa-lā tuṭiʿi l-kāfirīna wa-ǧāhidhum bihī ǧihādan kabīran

    So do not obey the faithless, but wage a great jihad against them with it.

53. 25:53

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ هَـٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ وَهَـٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخًا وَحِجْرًا مَّحْجُورًا﴿٥٣﴾

    wa-huwa llaḏī maraǧa l-baḥrayni hāḏā ʿaḏbun furātun wa-hāḏā milḥun ˈuǧāǧun wa-ǧaʿala baynahumā barzaḫan wa-ḥiǧran maḥǧūran

    It is He who merged the two seas: this one sweet and agreeable, and that one briny and bitter, and between the two He set a barrier and a forbidding hindrance.

54. 25:54

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ بَشَرًا فَجَعَلَهُۥ نَسَبًا وَصِهْرًا ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًا﴿٥٤﴾

    wa-huwa llaḏī ḫalaqa mina l-māˈi bašaran fa-ǧaʿalahū nasaban wa-ṣihran wa-kāna rabbuka qadīran

    It is He who created the human being from water, then invested him with ties of blood and marriage, and your Lord is all-powerful.

55. 25:55

    وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱلْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ ظَهِيرًا﴿٥٥﴾

    wa-yaʿbudūna min dūni llāhi mā lā yanfaʿuhum wa-lā yaḍurruhum wa-kāna l-kāfiru ʿalā rabbihī ẓahīran

    They worship besides Allah that which neither brings them any benefit nor causes them any harm, and the faithless one is ever an abettor against his Lord.

56. 25:56

    وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا﴿٥٦﴾

    wa-mā ˈarsalnāka ˈillā mubašširan wa-naḏīran

    We did not send you except as a bearer of good news and as a warner.

57. 25:57

    قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ أَن يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا﴿٥٧﴾

    qul mā ˈasˈalukum ʿalayhi min ˈaǧrin ˈillā man šāˈa ˈan yattaḫiḏa ˈilā rabbihī sabīlan

    Say, ‘I do not ask you any reward for it, except that anyone who wishes should take the way to his Lord.’

58. 25:58

    وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْحَىِّ ٱلَّذِى لَا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِهِۦ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًا﴿٥٨﴾

    wa-tawakkal ʿalā l-ḥayyi llaḏī lā yamūtu wa-sabbiḥ bi-ḥamdihī wa-kafā bihī bi-ḏunūbi ʿibādihī ḫabīran-i

    Put your trust in the Living One who does not die, and celebrate His praise. He suffices as one all-aware of the sins of His servants.

59. 25:59

    ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ۚ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهِۦ خَبِيرًا﴿٥٩﴾

    allaḏī ḫalaqa s-samāwāti wa-l-ˈarḍa wa-mā baynahumā fī sittati ˈayyāmin ṯumma stawā ʿalā l-ʿarši r-raḥmānu fa-sˈal bihī ḫabīran

    He, who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, and then settled on the Throne, the All-beneficent; so ask someone who is well aware about Him.

60. 25:60Sajdah

    وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ قَالُوا۟ وَمَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ أَنَسْجُدُ لِمَا تَأْمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُورًا ۩﴿٦٠﴾

    wa-ˈiḏā qīla lahumu sǧudū li-r-raḥmāni qālū wa-mā r-raḥmānu ˈa-nasǧudu li-mā taˈmurunā wa-zādahum nufūran

    When they are told: ‘Prostrate yourselves before the All-beneficent,’ they say, ‘What is ‘‘the All-beneficent’’? Shall we prostrate ourselves before whatever you bid us?’ And it increases their aversion.

61. 25:61

    تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَٰجًا وَقَمَرًا مُّنِيرًا﴿٦١﴾

    tabāraka llaḏī ǧaʿala fī s-samāˈi burūǧan wa-ǧaʿala fīhā sirāǧan wa-qamaran munīran

    Blessed is He who appointed houses in the sky and set in it a lamp and a shining moon.

62. 25:62

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًا﴿٦٢﴾

    wa-huwa llaḏī ǧaʿala l-layla wa-n-nahāra ḫilfatan li-man ˈarāda ˈan yaḏḏakkara ˈaw ˈarāda šukūran

    It is He who made the night and the day alternate for someone who desires to take admonition, or desires to give thanks.

63. 25:63

    وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا﴿٦٣﴾

    wa-ʿibādu r-raḥmāni llaḏīna yamšūna ʿalā l-ˈarḍi hawnan wa-ˈiḏā ḫāṭabahumu l-ǧāhilūna qālū salāman

    The servants of the All-beneficent are those who walk humbly on the earth, and when the ignorant address them, say, ‘Peace!’

64. 25:64

    وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَـٰمًا﴿٦٤﴾

    wa-llaḏīna yabītūna li-rabbihim suǧǧadan wa-qiyāman

    Those who spend the night for their Lord, prostrating and standing [in worship].

65. 25:65

    وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا﴿٦٥﴾

    wa-llaḏīna yaqūlūna rabbanā ṣrif ʿannā ʿaḏāba ǧahannama ˈinna ʿaḏābahā kāna ġarāman

    Those who say, ‘Our Lord! Turn away from us the punishment of hell. Indeed its punishment is enduring.

66. 25:66

    إِنَّهَا سَآءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا﴿٦٦﴾

    ˈinnahā sāˈat mustaqarran wa-muqāman

    Indeed it is an evil station and abode.’

67. 25:67

    وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا۟ وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا۟ وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًا﴿٦٧﴾

    wa-llaḏīna ˈiḏā ˈanfaqū lam yusrifū wa-lam yaqturū wa-kāna bayna ḏālika qawāman

    Those who are neither wasteful nor tightfisted when spending, but balanced between these [two extremes].

68. 25:68

    وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا﴿٦٨﴾

    wa-llaḏīna lā yadʿūna maʿa llāhi ˈilāhan ˈāḫara wa-lā yaqtulūna n-nafsa llatī ḥarrama llāhu ˈillā bi-l-ḥaqqi wa-lā yaznūna wa-man yafʿal ḏālika yalqa ˈaṯāman

    Those who do not invoke another deity besides Allah, and do not kill a soul [whose life] Allah has made inviolable, except with due cause, and do not commit fornication. (Whoever does that shall encounter its retribution,

69. 25:69

    يُضَـٰعَفْ لَهُ ٱلْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَيَخْلُدْ فِيهِۦ مُهَانًا﴿٦٩﴾

    yuḍāʿaf lahu l-ʿaḏābu yawma l-qiyāmati wa-yaḫlud fīhi muhānan

    the punishment being doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection. In it he will abide in humiliation forever,

70. 25:70

    إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَـٰلِحًا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ حَسَنَـٰتٍ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا﴿٧٠﴾

    ˈillā man tāba wa-ˈāmana wa-ʿamila ʿamalan ṣāliḥan fa-ˈulāˈika yubaddilu llāhu sayyiˈātihim ḥasanātin wa-kāna llāhu ġafūran raḥīman

    except those who repent, attain faith, and act righteously. For such, Allah will replace their misdeeds with good deeds, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

71. 25:71

    وَمَن تَابَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَإِنَّهُۥ يَتُوبُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَتَابًا﴿٧١﴾

    wa-man tāba wa-ʿamila ṣāliḥan fa-ˈinnahū yatūbu ˈilā llāhi matāban

    And whoever repents and acts righteously indeed turns to Allah with due penitence).

72. 25:72

    وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِٱللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا۟ كِرَامًا﴿٧٢﴾

    wa-llaḏīna lā yašhadūna z-zūra wa-ˈiḏā marrū bi-l-laġwi marrū kirāman

    Those who do not give false testimony, and when they come upon frivolity, pass by with dignity.

73. 25:73

    وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَمْ يَخِرُّوا۟ عَلَيْهَا صُمًّا وَعُمْيَانًا﴿٧٣﴾

    wa-llaḏīna ˈiḏā ḏukkirū bi-ˈāyāti rabbihim lam yaḫirrū ʿalayhā ṣumman wa-ʿumyānan

    Those who, when reminded of the signs of their Lord, do not turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to them.

74. 25:74

    وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا﴿٧٤﴾

    wa-llaḏīna yaqūlūna rabbanā hab lanā min ˈazwāǧinā wa-ḏurriyyātinā qurrata ˈaʿyunin wa-ǧʿalnā li-l-muttaqīna ˈimāman

    And those who say, ‘Our Lord! Give us joy and comfort in our spouses and offspring, and make us imams of the Godwary.’

75. 25:75

    أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُجْزَوْنَ ٱلْغُرْفَةَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَيُلَقَّوْنَ فِيهَا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلَـٰمًا﴿٧٥﴾

    ˈulāˈika yuǧzawna l-ġurfata bi-mā ṣabarū wa-yulaqqawna fīhā taḥiyyatan wa-salāman

    Those shall be rewarded with sublime abodes for their patience and steadfastness, and they shall be met there with greetings and ‘Peace,’

76. 25:76

    خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ حَسُنَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا﴿٧٦﴾

    ḫālidīna fīhā ḥasunat mustaqarran wa-muqāman

    to abide in them [forever], an excellent station and abode.

77. 25:77

    قُلْ مَا يَعْبَؤُا۟ بِكُمْ رَبِّى لَوْلَا دُعَآؤُكُمْ ۖ فَقَدْ كَذَّبْتُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًۢا﴿٧٧﴾

    qul mā yaʿbaˈu bikum rabbī law-lā duʿāˈukum fa-qad kaḏḏabtum fa-sawfa yakūnu lizāman

    Say, ‘Were it not for the sake of summoning you [to faith], what store my Lord would have set by you? But you impugned [me and my summons], so it will soon follow as a result.’
