والشمس وضحاهاBy the sun and its morning brightness,
تسكن وجه الحسينIt dwells on the face of Hussein.
والقمر اذا تلاهاAnd by the moon when it follows it,
يهوي دون اليدينIt falls without hands.
والليل اذا يغشاهاAnd by the night when it covers it,
صلت فيه جلوساIt prayed in it while sitting.
والنهار اذا جلاهاAnd by the day when it reveals it,
شالوا فيه الرؤوسThey carried heads in it.
والسماء وما بناهاAnd by the sky and its builder,
تسكب دمع الجلالIt pours tears of majesty.
والارض وما طحاهاAnd by the earth and its expander,
غطته بالرمالIt covered him with sand.
لله الذي خلق الحسينPraise be to God who created Hussein.
والسلام على الحسين (2x)And peace be upon Hussein.
انا من دون الحسينWithout Hussein,
كسراب في سرابI am like a mirage in a mirage.
وانا وجود اذا ما يقرا بالليل بابيAnd I am an existence if it is read at night, my door.
