بني ويا روح الولي أنت عليلO my son, soul of the Guardian, you are sick

بني سنأتي بعد أيام قليلةO my son, we will return in a few days

سلامي للوداع الحزين ما شاء اللهMy peace upon the sorrowful farewell, as God wills

خذوني أظن البعد يا عم طويلاًTake me with you; I fear this separation, O uncle, will be long

خذوني خذوني أرى في عالم الرؤيا خيولاًTake me, take me with you; in the realm of dreams I see horses

خذوني وفي الرؤيا أبي يبدو قتيلاًTake me with you; and in the vision, my father appears slain

خذوني أظن البعد يا عم طويلاًTake me with you; I fear this separation, O uncle, will be long

خذوني أرى في عالم الرؤيا خيولاًTake me with you; in the realm of dreams I see horses

خذوني وفي الرؤيا أبي يبدو قتيلاًTake me with you; and in the vision, my father appears slain

سلامي للبعيد عن الحبيب (3x)My peace upon the one who is far from his beloved

سلامي للبعيد خذونيMy peace upon the distant one; take me with you!

أضم الجسد الدامي إليTo embrace the bleeding body to my chest,

خذوني خذونيTake me, take me along!

لألقى السوط عن أختي رقيه خذونيTo take the whip's lashes instead of my sister Ruqayyah, Take me with you,

لأمشي قرب عمتي السبيةTo walk captive beside my aunt,

خذوني أضم الجسد الدامي إليTake me with you, To embrace the bleeding body to my chest,

خذوني لألقى السوط عن أختي رقيه خذونيTake me with you, To shield my sister Ruqayyah from the whip, Take me with you,

لأمشي قرب عماتي سبيهTo walk captive beside my aunts.

للبعيد عن المدينهTo the one departing far from Medina,

خذوني لأسقي عطش المولى دموعيTake me with you, To quench my Master's thirst with my tears,

خذوني لأفدي بدل ضلعي دموعيTake me with you, To offer my tears to ransom broken ribs,

أدار السقم عن النحر الرضيعTo shield the nursing infant's throat from affliction.

سلامي للعليل على الهزيله (2x)My salutations to the ailing Imam upon the emaciated camel,

سلامي للعليلMy salutations to the ailing Imam.
