أُجزيتِ خيرَ الأولياYou have been rewarded with the best of saints,

يا نِعم طوعهO what a blessed obedience!

لا أَسْبَلَ الله لكِ في الهمِّ دمعهMay God never let a tear fall from your eye in sorrow.

جرّوه وَيْلاه على .. ليثٍ يهانُThey dragged him, alas, a lion being humiliated.

وقبل قتلِهِ بكى .. قالو جبانُAnd before his killing, he wept. They said, "Coward!"

أجابهم ابكي على حالِ غريبِHe answered them, "I weep for the state of the stranger."
