يا صائماً ألقِ السلامَ على الإمامO fasting one, offer greetings to the Imam.
عندَ الغروبِ يرّدُ مولاكَ السّلامAt sunset, your Master will return the greetings.
واذكرهُ يفطِرُ كلَّ يومٍ وحدَهُAnd remember him, for he breaks his fast alone every day.
من ألفِ عامٍ غربةٌ من ألف عامFor a thousand years, in exile for a thousand years.
أيُعِدُّ مائدةً لهُ أم يكتفي كسرَ الشعيرِ الفاطميDoes he prepare a feast for himself, or is he content with the barley bread of Fatima?
بعدَ الصّيامAfter fasting.
عينُ الصلاةِ فمَن يُصلّي خلفَهُHe is the essence of prayer; so who prays behind him?
ويقيمُ نافلةَ الوصالِ إذا أقامAnd performs the supererogatory prayer of union when he performs it?
والعيدُ فيهِ يُزارُ قبرُ أحبّةٍAnd on Eid, the graves of loved ones are visited.
ويُزار أرحامٌ وجيرانٌ كِرامAnd relatives and noble neighbors are visited.
أيزورُ مولانا مدينةَ جدّهِDoes our Master visit the city of his grandfather?
أم قبرَ أمٍّ حامِلاً وردَ الخُزامOr the grave of a mother, carrying lavender roses?
أم للغريِّ أمَ ارضِ طوسٍ أم إلى بغدادOr to Najaf, or the land of Tus, or to Baghdad?
أم يوماً بِسامرا أقامOr did he stay a day in Samarra?
أم لا يَزور سوى الذبيحِ بكربلاOr does he visit none but the slaughtered one in Karbala?
من حلَّلوا نحرَيهِ في الشّهر الحرامWhose throat they deemed lawful to cut in the sacred month?
ولِعمِّهِ العباسِ يشهدُ بالوفاAnd for his uncle Abbas, he bears witness to loyalty.
ويمُرُّ يسقي وردةً بينَ الخيامAnd he passes by, watering a rose among the tents.
فإذا رأيتُم عاشقًا يبكي دمًاSo if you see a lover weeping blood,
وإذا سمِعتُم يا لِثارات الإمامAnd if you hear, 'O avengers of the Imam!'
هو ذاك مهديُّ الزمانِ فأقرِئواThat is the Mahdi of our time, so convey to him.
إن تدركوهُ عن أحبّتهِ السّلامIf you reach him, greetings from his loved ones.
