وجلت وعظمت مصيبتك في السماوات على جميع أهل السماواتAnd your calamity is monumental and great in the heavens for all the dwellers of the heavens

فلعن الله أمة أسست أساس الظلم والجور عليكم أهل البيتSo may Allah curse the people who laid the foundation of oppression and injustice against you, O People of the House

ولعن الله أمة دفعتكم عن مقامكم وأزالتكم عن مراتبكم التي رتبكم الله فيهاAnd may Allah curse the people who pushed you away from your position and removed you from the ranks in which Allah had placed you

ولعن الله أمة قتلتكمAnd may Allah curse the people who killed you

ولعن الله الممهدين لهم بالتمكين من قتالكمAnd may Allah curse those who paved the way for them, empowering them to fight you

برئت إلى الله وإليكم منهم ومن أشياعهم وأتباعهم وأوليائهمI disassociate myself, before Allah and before you, from them, their partisans, their followers, and their allies

يا أبا عبد اللهO Aba Abdillah

إني سلم لمن سالمكم وحرب لمن حاربكم إلى يوم القيامةI am at peace with those who are at peace with you, and at war with those who are at war with you, until the Day of Resurrection

ولعن الله آل زياد وآل مروانAnd may Allah curse the family of Ziyad and the family of Marwan

ولعن الله بني أمية قاطبةAnd may Allah curse the Bani Umayyah entirely

ولعن الله ابن مرجانةAnd may Allah curse the son of Marjanah

ولعن الله عمر بن سعدAnd may Allah curse Umar ibn Sa'd

ولعن الله شمراAnd may Allah curse Shimr

ولعن الله أمة أسرجت وألجمت وتنقبت لقتالكAnd may Allah curse a people who saddled up, bridled their horses, and masked their faces to fight you

بأبي أنت وأميMay my father and mother be sacrificed for you

لقد عظم مصابي بكProfound is my sorrow for you

فأسأل الله الذي أكرم مقامكSo I ask Allah, who honored your status

وأكرمني بك أن يرزقني طلب ثأركand honored me through you, to grant me the opportunity to seek your vengeance

مع إمام منصورwith a victorious Imam

من أهل بيت محمد صلى الله عليه وآلهfrom the Household of Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his family

اللهم اجعلني عندك وجيها بالحسين عليه السلام في الدنيا والآخرةO Allah, make me illustrious in Your sight through Husayn, peace be upon him, in this world and the Hereafter

يا أبا عبد اللهO Aba Abdillah

إني أتقرب إلى الله وإلى رسولهI seek nearness to Allah and to His Messenger,

وإلى أمير المؤمنين وإلى فاطمة وإلى الحسن وإليكand to the Commander of the Faithful, to Fatima, to Hasan, and to you,

بموالاتك وبالبراءة ممن قاتلك ونصب لك الحربby loving you and by disassociating from those who fought you and waged war against you,

وبالبراءة ممن أسس أساس الظلم والجور عليكمand by disassociating from those who laid the foundation of oppression and injustice against you.

وأبرأ إلى الله وإلى رسولهAnd I disassociate myself before Allah and His Messenger

ممن أسس أساس ذلك وبنى عليه بنيانهfrom those who laid the foundation for that and built their edifice upon it,

وجرى في ظلمه وجوره عليكم وعلى أشياعكمand proceeded in their oppression and injustice against you and your followers.

برئت إلى الله وإليكم منهمI disassociate myself, before Allah and before you, from them,

وأتقرب إلى الله ثم إليكم بموالاتكم وموالاة وليكمand I seek nearness to Allah, and then to you, by loving you and loving your friends,

وبالبراءة من أعدائكم والناصبين لكم الحربand by disassociating from your enemies and those who wage war against you,

وبالبراءة من أشياعهم وأتباعهمand by disassociating from their partisans and followers.

إني سلم لمن سالمكمI am at peace with those who are at peace with you,

وحرب لمن حاربكمand at war with those who are at war with you,

وولي لمن والاكمa friend to those who befriend you,

وعدو لمن عاداكمand an enemy to those who are your enemies.

فأسأل الله الذي أكرمني بمعرفتكم ومعرفة أوليائكمSo I ask Allah, who has honored me with the knowledge of you and the knowledge of your friends,

ورزقني البراءة من أعدائكمand blessed me with disassociation from your enemies,

أن يجعلني معكم في الدنيا والآخرةto place me with you in this world and the Hereafter,

وأن يثبت لي عندكم قدم صدق في الدنيا والآخرةand to make firm my steps of truth with you in this world and the Hereafter.

وأسأله أن يبلغني المقام المحمود لكم عند اللهAnd I ask Him to help me reach the praiseworthy station you have with Allah,

وأن يرزقني طلب ثأريand to grant me the opportunity to seek vengeance (for you),

مع إمام هدى ظاهر ناطق بالحق منكمwith a manifest Guide Imam from among you who speaks the truth.

وأسأل الله بحقكم وبالشأن الذي لكم عندهAnd I ask Allah, by your right and the stature you hold with Him,

أن يعطيني بمصابي بكم أفضل ما يعطي مصابا بمصيبتهto grant me, for my sorrow over you, the best of what He gives to the bereaved for their affliction;

مصيبة ما أعظمهاa calamity, how monumental it is!

وأعظم رزيتها في الإسلام وفي جميع السماوات والأرضand how great is its tragedy in Islam and in all the heavens and the earth!

اللهم اجعلني في مقامي هذا ممن تناله منك صلوات ورحمة ومغفرةO Allah, make me, in this station of mine, one of those who receives from You blessings, mercy, and forgiveness.

اللهم اجعل محياي محيا محمد وآل محمد ومماتي ممات محمد وآل محمدO Allah, make my life the life of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and my death the death of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

اللهم إن هذا يوم تبركت به بنو أميةO Allah, indeed this is a day that Bani Umayyah deemed blessed,

وابن آكلة الأكباد اللعين ابن اللعين على لسانك ولسان نبيك صلى الله عليه وآلهand the son of the liver-eater, the accursed son of the accursed, by Your tongue and the tongue of Your Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his family,

في كل موطن وموقف وقف فيه نبيك صلى الله عليه وآلهin every place and stance where Your Prophet stood, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his family.

اللهم العن أبا سفيان ومعاوية ويزيد بن معاوية عليهم منك اللعنة أبد الآبدينO Allah, curse Abu Sufyan, Mu'awiyah, and Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah; upon them be Your curse forever and ever.

وهذا يوم فرحت به آل زياد وآل مروان بقتلهم الحسين صلوات الله عليهAnd this is a day on which the family of Ziyad and the family of Marwan rejoiced for having killed Husayn, peace of Allah be upon him.

اللهم فضاعف عليهم اللعن منك والعذاب الأليمO Allah, multiply Your curse upon them and the painful punishment.

اللهم إني أتقرب إليك في هذا اليوم وفي موقفي هذا وأيام حياتيO Allah, I seek nearness to You on this day, in this stance of mine, and throughout the days of my life,

بالبراءة منهم واللعنة عليهمby disassociating from them and sending curses upon them,

وبالموالاة لنبيك وآل نبيك عليه وعليهم السلامand by loving Your Prophet and the family of Your Prophet, peace be upon him and upon them.

اللهم العن أول ظالم ظلم حق محمد وآل محمدO Allah, curse the first oppressor who wronged the right of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,

وآخر تابع له على ذلكand the last one to follow him in that.

اللهم العن العصابة التي جاهدت الحسين وشايعت وبايعت وتابعت على قتلهO Allah, curse the group that fought Husayn, and those who allied, pledged allegiance, and followed in his murder.

اللهم العنهم جميعاO Allah, curse them all.

السلام عليك يا أبا عبد اللهPeace be upon you, O Aba Abdillah,

وعلى الأرواح التي حلت بفنائكand upon the souls that descended into your courtyard.

عليك مني سلام الله أبدا ما بقيت وبقي الليل والنهارUpon you from me is the peace of Allah forever, as long as I remain and the night and day remain.

ولا جعله الله آخر العهد مني لزيارتكمAnd may Allah not make it the last of my pledges of visitation to you.

السلام على الحسينPeace be upon Husayn,

وعلى علي بن الحسينand upon Ali, son of Husayn,

وعلى أولاد الحسينand upon the children of Husayn,

وعلى أصحاب الحسينand upon the companions of Husayn.

اللهم خص أنت أول ظالم باللعن منيO Allah, single out the first oppressor with a curse from me,

وابدأ به أولاand begin with him first,

ثم العن الثاني والثالث والرابعthen curse the second, the third, and the fourth.

اللهم العن يزيد خامساO Allah, curse Yazid as the fifth,

والعن عبيد الله بن زياد وابن مرجانة وعمر بن سعد وشمراand curse Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad, the son of Marjanah, Umar ibn Sa'd, and Shimr,

وآل أبي سفيان وآل زياد وآل مروان إلى يوم القيامةand the family of Abu Sufyan, the family of Ziyad, and the family of Marwan, until the Day of Resurrection.

اللهم لك الحمد حمد الشاكرين لك على مصابهمO Allah, to You belongs the praise, the praise of those who are thankful to You during their afflictions.

الحمد لله على عظيم رزيتيPraise be to Allah for my great tragedy.

اللهم ارزقني شفاعة الحسين يوم الورودO Allah, grant me the intercession of Husayn on the Day of Arrival,

وثبت لي قدم صدق عندك مع الحسين وأصحاب الحسينand make firm for me a step of truth with You alongside Husayn and the companions of Husayn,

الذين بذلوا مهجهم دون الحسين عليه السلامwho sacrificed their very souls for Husayn, peace be upon him.
